Chapter 99: Conflicted Sisters, Enraged Phantylia
Added 2025-05-07 09:02:31 +0000 UTCNow, without even needing to test the waters, Hanu was certain her sister Xueyi also possessed those strange additional memories.
But this only made things more bizarre.
Her elder sister Xueyi had a puppet body—practically no different from a robot. Not only did she lack emotions, but she wasn't even capable of dreaming.
"Finally found you!"
Even without looking up, Hanu could sense the eeth gnashing excitement in her usually emotionless sister's voice.
"Little sister, I'm going out!"
Xueyi immediately prepared to confront Solon and demand justice.
Unlike Hanu, whose feelings toward Solon were complicated—even tinged with reluctant affection—Xueyi was convinced that she and her sister had been defiled by that shameless beast.
Not long after gaining these memories, she had sworn revenge.
Only by putting a few dozen holes in that damned man could she quell the fury burning inside her!
To deceive me is one thing, but to drag my little sister into this as well… Despicable! Unforgivable!
For an emotionless puppet body to harbor such intense rage spoke volumes about how deeply Xueyi loathed Solon.
Hanu knew her sister all too well.
Though Xueyi usually seemed cold and detached, once her anger was truly ignited, no one could talk her down.
"Sister, let me go with you. From what you've said, the opponent is strong—we should watch each other's backs."
Xueyi considered it for a moment, then nodded.
She cherished her sister, yes, but she never coddled her. Instead, she often dragged Hanu into sparring sessions. As a result, despite being a civil official, Hanu was no slouch in combat.
Thus, Hanu followed Xueyi as they left the Ten-Lords Commission and headed toward the address Xueyi had tracked down.
Along the way, Hanu glanced at her sister and cautiously asked,
"Sister… did you also gain a large chunk of unfamiliar memories?"
Xueyi's hurried footsteps suddenly halted. She nodded, then turned to Hanu.
"Little sister, don't tell me you…"
Hanu nodded.
For a moment, the sisters stood in silence, their cheeks faintly tinged with pink.
Those shameful scenes from the memories resurfaced in their minds.
Xueyi tightened her grip on the spike in her hand.
"No matter what, this matter must be settled!"
Hanu sighed.
"Alright, sister, as long as it makes you happy. I think he's actually not a bad person, but if you want to deal with him, I'll follow your lead…"
Perhaps overwhelmed by awkwardness, Hanu nervously rambled on.
Fortunately, Xueyi never minded her sister's chattiness—she'd listen as long as Hanu kept talking.
After all, Xueyi had to capture a criminal just to earn half a day of "revived" time. Between her workload and lack of rest, let alone vacations, opportunities for the sisters to act together were rare.
If not for their shared goal of finding that man named Solon, they wouldn't have spared the time for a joint operation.
Maybe we should even thank him…
The same thought surfaced in both sisters' minds with eerie synchrony.
Their emotions now conflicted, the two weaved through the streets and alleys of the Luofu.
Xueyi, efficient and skilled at tracking down fugitives, soon led Hanu through most of Solon's known residences on the Xianzhou.
In less than three hours, they confirmed his most recent whereabouts—a small courtyard in the Changliu District.
That very courtyard was where Solon had frequently… entertained Guinaifen for nightly escapades.
Solon's fears were justified. Xueyi was terrifyingly adept at hunting down targets. If he had stayed on the Luofu, he'd have been found in minutes. Fighting back would mean provoking the Xianzhou, while surrendering meant capture.
Damned if I do, damned if I don't! Solon would've screamed if he could. This is too hard!
So his choice to flee far away was absolutely the right move.
Upon arriving, the sisters discovered that while Solon had indeed stayed there recently, he hadn't returned for several days.
So close, yet so far. The frustration was maddening.
"Sister, maybe… we should let it go?" Hanu suggested softly.
"No! This isn't something we can just drop!" Xueyi flatly refused.
Hanu sighed. Once her sister's stubbornness flared up, persuasion was pointless. All she could do was quietly follow along.
Two hours later, Xueyi slammed her fist against the railing of the interstellar port.
Despite her relentless investigation, the final result was clear: Solon had sensed the danger days ago and fled the Luofu aboard a starship.
Now, there was truly nothing to be done.
The Ten-Lords Commission would never approve a leave of absence for personal vengeance.
"Damn it! DAMN IT!"
Xueyi kicked the railing twice, venting her fury on the poor metal bars.
Hanu, however, secretly breathed a sigh of relief. In truth, she genuinely felt that the man in her memories had treated them well.
Though his methods had been unscrupulous at first, he later doted on them exclusively. After ascending as the Aeon of the Endless Cycle, he even elevated them to Emanators, granting them near-immortality.
Compared to their current lives—overworked tools of the Ten-Lords Commission, expected to be grateful for the exploitation—the difference was staggering.
Ignorance is bliss. Without these memories, Hanu would've been content just being with Xueyi. But now, looking back at their present circumstances…
It's unbearable!
And so, the sisters—each lost in their own thoughts—stood at the docks like outsiders, watching the starships come and go…
Meanwhile…
A mass of azure flames raged violently in the depths of space.
From within the eerie conflagration, a woman's voice echoed.
"I'll kill him! That damned bastard! This lady will reduce him to ashes!"
The true identity of these sinister flames was none other than the Destruction Emanator—Phantylia the Undoing.
Even if these were merely "false" memories, they infuriated her beyond measure.
The memories felt too real, as if she had lived through them herself.
Countless civilizations had fallen to her deceit, their faith shattered before meeting ruin. When it came to deception, she was a master among masters.
Yet in these fabricated memories, she had been tricked by a man—not only surrendering her body and dignity but ultimately being discarded like a used rag.
An insult! An UNFORGIVABLE INSULT!
Her fury caused the surrounding Destruction energy to run wild. The flames of annihilation spread, engulfing matter across a radius far exceeding that of a planet.
It took Phantylia a long time to regain her composure. Her anger hadn't subsided—it merely lay dormant, like a volcano biding its time.
In her foul mood, she immediately sought out a primitive civilization to vent her wrath upon.
This was a target she had long since marked. Originally, she had deliberated on how to best showcase her aesthetics of destruction.
Now, hesitation was unnecessary.
Slaughter. Carnage. Rivers of blood. That was all she wanted to see.
And so, the once-wise queen she had possessed began issuing a series of mad decrees—imposing crushing taxes and declaring war on all neighboring nations at once.
Comments
Okay hold up. How does Phantylia remember the simulation? This is plothole and forced. If you want her to remember, just made the MC pull her. If this is allowed, then Jingliu should get another set of memories. Sigh, what a disappointment.
