May it Be - Sneak Peek

First, here is a tiny sneak peak of May it Be. It has been a longtime dream of mine to record this song, and I finally figured out how to approach the arrangement.
I had tried piano only... then guitar only... and then, strings only, like Enya, and then, a capella... and nothing felt right. I've settled on a sprinkle of everything. Ha.
I've realized that the more I love a song, the bigger the struggle it is to cover it since I always prefer the original. But, I'm making peace with the fact that... "♪♫ this is just a tribute, you gotta believe me ♪♬ " and it doesn't have to change the course of humanity's destiny or revolutionize anything. It's just a pretty song that makes my heart feel good and it's a joy to sing.
As long as I can hold on to that feeling, the rest is an added bonus. A beautiful bonus if people like it, and a "well, that's ok" bonus if people don't.
I'm very sorry for the lack of updates in recent weeks. Thor had surgery at the end of March. His cancer returned, sadly, and this time it was stage 4. The tumor was removed and his recovery has been tricky and slow going. But, I'm happy to share he's on his way to healing up and is in great spirits.
And also, holy cowbells. Life has changed quite a bit for us in the past couple of months. I hope you are staying safe and healthy.
Thank you for still being here. I know these are difficult times and it means the world to me-- no, it means THE UNIVERSE to me that you continue to be here.
