Neurologist today
Added 2019-11-08 14:52:33 +0000 UTCFound out today I get Hemiplegic migraines. Shit is wild and mimics a stroke essentially.
Found out because a couple of days ago I had my first one and it scared the shit out of me. It started with getting sunspots and zigzag vision. Then the right side of my body went numb and tingly. I couldn’t feel my hand or see anymore so I got up. Dizziness and confusion set in and I collapsed. I got up and went to my roommate and discovered I couldn’t speak properly or understand words anymore. After all of that passed, I had what can only be described as the worst pain in my head that lasted for 30 hours and then broke off into smaller headaches.
They checked me out and gave me proper meds for it (shout-out to Dutch healthcare system).
Glad to know I’m at least not dying but damn.
If I ever have an actual stroke I’m fucking screwed.
