Added 2023-07-03 01:02:50 +0000 UTC🚨 This is NOT about my current relationship -- more of a culmination of mine + some of my friends' past relationships shaped into one comic. 🚨 Clinging onto a relationship that was once good in the past, but no longer serves you or your partner today is rough. It's easy to romanticize the past and all the things you have been through together, but people change for both the good and the bad, and the relationship that stands today is no longer anything like the one that started years ago. It's a bittersweet acceptance, but I don't regret having to cut off some people in my life to preserve the good memories we had left, instead of allowing relationships to continue spiraling into further darkness. Some people were meant to show up in chapters of your life for a reason, but not everyone needs to make it to the end of the book with you. 😌
I sincerely wish anyone who is going through a struggle like this the best. Just know that your future self will be incredibly thankful about letting go of a potentially toxic / expired relationship. The consecutive nights of crying yourself to sleep and carrying a heavy weight in your chest may be painful, but remember it's okay to grieve something that meant a lot to you. It just means that relationship did have a lot of positive moments, but know there will only be more in the future. Everyone deserves happiness, but the steps to getting there don't always come pain free.
