Hi everyone, just wanted to share some considerations that could be useful to start a project.
I have been commissioned to sculpt Angron, a big guy with two "barbed" axes, according to his lore he was like a Warhammer's Spartacus in his early life. That's why I have been commissioned to give him a gladiatorial helmet (which I find very cool).
Anyway, to find the right pose to make him look cool but also "accurate" I did some google research, find out that there is a martial art that dates back to Vikings and involves axes, which is called Glima. This led me to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJToYvIy9gc&ab_channel=Insider , on minute 3:30 he talks about barbed axes (yes, the axes used by Angron), this particular kind of axes are so cool because you can use them also to punch in close combats.
That opened my mind to find the right pose, and who punches better than a boxer? Also, who is the most aggressive of the famous boxers? Yep, Mike Tyson was the main reference to go to find a good pose.
And that's all, thank you, and I hope this little post can be of some use.
