Steve Notes NXT 2.0 9/22/2021

Show opens up with 2.0 meatheads milling about in the ring like some MyCareer Invitational is about to happen.

The completely out of place Tomosso Ciampa comes out, his lower third is in the style of NXT 1.0 appropriately.

908 days he reclaimed his spot and took the title he never lost. It was a long journey but it was worth every second for this moment and to say to everyone that once again Ciampa is your NXT champion. What a time this is, 2.0, fresh faces, the energy is contagious, these young men and women have been busting their asses and they’re ready to show the world just how damn good they are. I’m talking about guys like Carmello Hayes, Odyssey JOnes, Bron Breaker, um, and other guys, and then there’s ME, I am and will always be MR. NXT. Now we can give ourselves a fresh coat of paint, but what hasn’t changed is the passion, when I look around here, all these people are NXT, and then there’s the fans, that’s the heartbeat, the soul of this place, you’re the reason I get to stand here and do what I do. He then tries to convince either us or himself that NXT 2.0 is the A Show. He does the we are NXT thing.

Cameron Grimes comes out, says all this energy has got me all fired up. That championship is the rocket fuel I need to go to the moon. Joe Gacy starts talking, LA Knight interrupts, says all these incels should be chanting at me, YOU DESERVE IT, Odyssey Jones interrupts, says you lost twice in the same day, Pete Dunne and Ridge come out, this is a clusterfuck, Dunne says here we are, 2.0, all these new faces, lemme give you a piece of advice, make a name for yourself, I look around, and all I see a bunch of geezers, afraid to throw the first punch. Big brawl breaks out. Bron and Ciampa are the last men standing in the ring.

Backstage women are brawling.

Odyssey Jones vs. Two Jabronis

Andre Chase comes out to taunt Odyssey, doesn’t matter, he hits a funsplash on both men at the same time, then he hits a stacked splash on the jabronis for the win. After the match, Chase attacks Jones with a chair, Odyssey breaks the chair, sends Chase running.

Waller is backstage with two jabronis, Hayes and Trick rolls up, he has his contract, and he says this means even if you win next week, I can win it from you in the same night.

Pete Dunne/Ridge Holland vs. BRAKKER and Ciampa

Good lord. This is the take of two matches. Wrestling match 101 when Braker and Ridge and then like, a real NXT match when Ciampa and Dunne are in. WHy would DUnne re-sign for this shit? He could be on Strong or something.

Dunne introduces the slapjack or whatever, KOR takes it from him, allowing Ciampa to hit a draping DDT and BREAKKER hits his finish on Holland for the win. Breaker puts his sausage fingers all over Ciampa’s title.
