v0.16 Rundown, and quick poll for the Yu/Mei scene
Added 2022-08-05 23:27:33 +0000 UTCI'll quickly start with the purpose of the poll. Yu/Mei's mechanic is definitely more involved than the last ones, and I wanted to know how people thought about it.
If you feel like you have more to say about your vote, please feel free to leave a comment, for message me about how you felt! Remember this poll is specifically for the mechanic/gameplay of it.
With that, I will get into what is planned for v0.16!!
For those who have seen the sneak peeks, you will have seen the sketches of the 2 upcoming Hscenes. Here are the focuses right out the gate:
- Secret's Hscene
- Actual conversation animations for Secret
- 3some: Ruth, Yoni, Fufu
- new pin up for: Cali, Yoni, Fufu, Ruth, and Ayra
- Pixel art and UI polish/revamps
- Fixes/polish to various animations
- rebalancing Yu/Mei (poll pending)
- bug fixes... (of course)
- potential "gauntlet" mode, or similar game mode.
There could be more or less depending on how things go, as it stands.
First thing I will be working on is Secret's Hscene, and conversation animations, so I hope to have some things to show next week! I'll catch you all then, and I hope you guys enjoyed v0.15!!

2022-08-26 22:33:23 +0000 UTCA bit late to the vote, but I'll put in my two cents: Awesome scene, and the template is very good. Loved being able to switch between the two and having parallel bars. As for how the mechanics played out, they were mostly good. It just needs a little balancing. As a perfectionist, at first I kept fishing for blessings in order to negate the curses, not wanting to eat any curses as in order to progress. (I'm not sure if you're meant to just tank through some of them.) One thing that was partly my fault was that I didn't realize that the potion was technically a good(?) curse, which I can merely tank through without blessings. That said, I felt the blessing drop rate could be increased, or perhaps a more elegant solution: just guarantee at least one blessing per round with Mei. As it kinda started to feel like I was just pushing through Mei as fodder in order to get more blessings to push through Yu, which seems like it's not the goal here. TLDR: Great scene, just needs a little balance tweak.

2022-08-26 05:32:01 +0000 UTCWait, I hadn't seen the "Blessing" effect pop up until just now. I take back that part about undoing modifiers, then.

2022-08-09 20:05:54 +0000 UTCI appreciate there being a lot more challenge in this song compared to everything else so far, but eventually it can be sort of a crapshoot as to whether you have any chance of completing it. If you have enough Nitro proc, it becomes basically unplayable. Switching to Mei doesn't seem to help that much, because it can't undo modifiers, only add white modifiers.

2022-08-09 20:03:07 +0000 UTCThinking about this a bit more over the weekend, as an idea to make it a little more thematic, you could potentially take out the chance for "Double" and make that part of the switch (C) mechanic. Red notes for Yu and then a different color on the opposite track for Mei but they can never both be going at the same time

2022-08-08 16:49:41 +0000 UTCI personally enjoyed the yu/mei scene a lot, it felt like the notes lined up a lot more with the song and i think theres a lot of fun figuring out optimal strats and such. I was confused at first and i though mei's blessings would undo cursed rather than prevent them but I figured that out soon enough. I do think similar formats would be fun in the future if they did more to reward high difficulty routes. Maybe in the form of requiring more difficult routes to unlock extra scenes. Like imagine getting an SS on yu/mei and having it unlock an endurance mode or something

2022-08-07 17:08:26 +0000 UTCThis is a hard question. In many ways, it should be balanced, you can either focus on yu and deal with what she throws at you, just use mei to skip all of them, or some way in between. However, as it's not just a solid quarter note track, you have to pay more attention to the notes, which can make it impossible to know what Yu is throwing at you next when it's getting more difficult. In it's current form, I would say that the best strategy would be just to grind modifiers from mei then just go quick through yus, which, tbh, not that fun. As an idea it's fantastic, I just don't think it's balanced, nor that it plays to the games current strengths

2022-08-06 19:26:01 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the mechanic and the challenge of it. On my first run through the tempo sped up to almost impossible timings with only one tempo increase. Digi has a point to the stacking of buff stacking situation. Possibly adding a timer to how quickly you can swap or needing to time the character swaps with a new optional reel button would force people to think if they need to progress Mei or Yu for the duration before they can swap again. This one takes some practice and understanding to SS which is a good thing. With the boss being such a long match though I'd enjoy a little variation in the visual, especially after the previous update with the way the display/colors on screen would change for a few of the scenes. Previously I've honestly wanted more challenging gameplay. Generally all of the other characters can be SS'd by simply timing out your presses exactly the same length apart since the reel buttons do not stagger. This fight adds challenge by including mechanics, staggering out the buttons on the reel, AND forcing difficult modifiers. I'd like to see some unique mechanics for other fights as well. Possibly giving different girls a built in 3 star that is always active or a unique twist. Another thing I've thought might benefit the game would be to add scenes for the different stages of endurance. As you progress through endurance mode the positions would change from no chance of pregnancy to higher chance positions. I LOVE the game. Keep it up.

2022-08-06 13:46:51 +0000 UTCI liked it, you need an abundance of blessings though because the curses, which might have been the idea. Bewitch really make it a slog and next to impossible to regain lost ground from the Hex's and Conjures insanity. Ghost in particular (though nerfed) tends to get paired with mines and that might as well be a death sentence at least for any of my runs. So yeah I tend to just farm blessings and maybe that was the idea. Wouldn't say its impossible to SS rank, it's a way more sane tempo than Ruth's was. Although this is one of two scenes that I had the problem of lag spikes on which can make that harder. Maybe It's because I use fullscreen but on this scene and Samga 2 somtimes it will freeze for a moment then continue and lead to me missing several notes or overclicking. Granted that's a bit off topic and more an optimization issue than a scene one but felt it should be mentioned. So yeah pretty good scene next to impossible if you focus just on Yu but not if you let Mei support you.

2022-08-06 11:53:05 +0000 UTCLot of fun, enjoyed the dynamic of healer and curser. noticed some issues I didn't realize pause is space as well. Also not sure if its the game or the menu, but switching seems to add in a huge frame skip, possibly from thruster/nos being introduced. boss was very difficult, could see it taking people a lot to get completed. needs to have some sort of limit or required system to go back and forth. you can currently keep stacking buffs to the point the game is just broken.

2022-08-06 06:28:35 +0000 UTCI personally didn't like the boss as a whole. The entire song feels grindy and it's honestly a little bit above my level in terms of skill, so I haven't completed it yet. I've had to quit out the 4 times I've tried it because of it. Rest of the game though, is perfect, as I've SS'd all the other songs. Maybe I just don't get it or something

2022-08-06 01:40:29 +0000 UTCI thought it was a lot of fun. Only thing i would really change in that particular scene would be to maybe town down the amount of curses by a couple to make it less of a "keep yu steady while you farm blessings" grind. However it did highlight issues elsewhere in the game. Chief among those is that due to it's varied beat( a huge plus btw) sap actually has a downside there unlike any other song in the game. The varied beat on its own adds a lot of fun to the song but also shows how monotonous all the other songs are for gameplay. The fact that mines don't add any progress or even slow the idle decay really came to the fore here, especially with a couple saps in the mix, and ended up with long chains of perfects still fighting just to stay at the same spot in progress. Maybe some tweaks to mine or sap could be looked at but aren't really necessary. Some attention to spicing up the maps of older songs would be really nice though.

2022-08-06 00:32:00 +0000 UTCWhile hard and slightly a little frustrating at first, getting to understand the mechanics and how to optimize it to win was a very fun task. Bring on harder mechanics every once in a while.

2022-08-05 23:58:43 +0000 UTCI'll be honest I didn't really get it at first but after playing it a couple of times it's a lot more interesting since it requires more strategy than other ones
