MC DiD: Next weekend, page overhaul, announcement
Added 2023-01-31 14:53:38 +0000 UTCNext weekend, I'm going to go through and start creating all the promotional assets, since I'm edging ever closer to the finish line for the v 0.01 of MC DiD.
Stats already show this game has a better balance of dialogue across the main cast, and despite Ren'py saying "632 images," I have 462 renders - so far - other than the half dozen or so animations.
Yesterday I put in some time on the story to ensure that yes, the trajectory is good, things make sense, and there aren't any grammar issues (that I could find) :)
I really appreciate your support here, and we're going to have a similar release schedule for the next game as I did for HHD. VIP first, then the other tiers, etc. Once I get further into it, there will be a lot of animation just like HHD, but first, we gotta have all the story parts in line. To that end, I am going to edit what I've built so far, and see where (if possible) I can add an additional animation or three.
Playing other games taught me that you can't restrict the good animation to the naughty scenes; HHD had a few of those, but not that many. My goal here is to have more, and add over time a little more interactivity. We'll see how that goes.
Style of play will be similar to HHD. This is my tenth run up the hill for game development, and only the third project under this brand. There are three larger projects out there under another brand that are my work...but that's not me today, that's the me of years back.
I could add a bigger variety of gameplay and mechanics, but that'll slow things down. What I learned from those other projects is...I have no clue what players want in particular, and for myself, I'm also figuring that out. If I had seen a "perfect game," I'd just do my best to imitate that...but I haven't seen it.
It's rough out there, and I'm grateful to each & every one of you for your support in this adventure. These days, I'm fortunate enough to have a stable job that allows me to put all the mental effort I can into gamedev, and I'm optimistic what I deliver this year will be my best work so far. I can't wait.
Stay thirsty,
