MC DiD - new game launches Feb 12th for supporters
Added 2023-01-07 00:57:53 +0000 UTCHappy Friday!!! I've decided it's OK to share the acronym for the title - final, final, final since it has changed at least twice. The Ren'py WIP still has the first title, then discord has the second...but, I haven't shared until now even the acronym for the final.
What's going to be in the demo, and what's done?
- At least 500+ static images, we're at about 350 now, and I feel good about that date, given everything left to do.
- There are 4 thirty frame animations so far, with at least 10 or so planned. Pacing is going to be slower than HHD, so don't expect too much in the first edition.
- 7,500 words now, and I'm aiming at "enough," to cover the story, probably 12,000 maybe as much as 15,000 or even 20,000. This is a different work, so it's going to play differently in a few key areas.
- Emotional continuity - am attempting to have this nailed down in a way that it never really existed in HHD. In a scene, you could be a jerk; next scene, character wouldn't start in a continual emotional state, but rather a "default," which ...sucks, really. Aiming to ensure this flows, one scene to the next, and so far...wow. It certainly plays night & day differently.
- Drama. Five characters, so far. Multiple have been introduced on Discord, and I'll overhaul the page here sooner than later, well before release day.
- 3 custom sound effects, with more planned, and better music. I haven't yet invested a lot here, but again, it's an area of critical improvement for me going forward.
