Hello all, first I wanna thank the new patrons that have joined from the Twitter Criticisms video and are here for some early access to Flash, I hope you enjoyed it and it was worth it. Don't be afraid to leave a comment if you have feedback.
Second, if you only pledged for some Flash and haven't already, don't forget to cancel your patronage before your month is over (or change tiers if you want to keep supporting with a smaller amount) so you don't get charged again. I take no offense if you're just here to cum and go/hit it and quit it/pump and dump/ram and scram/smash and dash/blow your load and hit the road/bust a nut and leave the hut/blow your skeet then hit that yeet.
And the rule is: as soon as you pay, your username will still be in the credits of the videos I'm working on at that time, even if you cancel at some point before their release.
As for the video itself, it’s near completion. If you are a patron and haven’t read the Update from June 24, the total estimated runtime for this Season 5 coverage is about 4 hours long, so it is being split into two parts. I stated at the end of the Season 4 video that if I knew it was going to be 3 hours long, I would have split it, so it was only natural this would happen to an even longer video. And there are a few reasons for doing this:
It will take me like another 6 months to complete the second half. There are other videos I want to make (Born Again) and the Flash ones require me to invest way more time than any other franchise.
Because of this, I go several months without uploading, which is a financial concern. YouTube prefers consistent uploads, most of my income comes from ad revenue, and I want to maximize it as much as I can now that I’m older and have more to worry about.
The amount of editing is a burden - it isn’t just mostly putting clips together like other videos; because of the head counts, shot counts, timers, and amount of visual context I need to show while constantly transforming it to avoid copyright, not only does it take way longer - it’s starting to lag my editing software. It’d rather stop now before it gets real bad like it got when I was working on the Season 4 video.
On that note, copyright. I’m always paranoid about it (read the second paragraph after this), so a shorter video using less footage makes it feel safer.
Part 1 covers the first 11 episodes (minus the crossover episode), and is 1 hour and 50 minutes long as of now. What’s left for me to do is finish editing episode 8, record and edit for episode 10, record and edit the ending of the video, and add background music. I promise episode 11 is a perfect stopping point because of how rancidly atrocious it is.
However, that doesn’t mean it will be posted immediately upon completion, for two reasons:
I would like to have the final video sitting as unlisted for at least a week, just to be sure it won’t get copyrighted or demonetized for profanity shortly after publishing. If you aren’t aware, the Flash movie video I made got claimed 9 days after it went public, and the Season 3 video got claimed OVER 3 YEARS after being public (both were claimed for <8 seconds of music, but are now re-monetized because I muted those parts through YouTube).
I want this video to get a sponsor. I don’t enjoy watching this series, I no longer enjoy making these videos, but like I’ve said, I continue for the money. The Season 4 video was on the verge of getting a sponsor, until the person I was in contact with made up a BS requirement (despite me guaranteeing 1 million views in 1 month), so they passed on it. Don’t want that to happen again, and I don’t know how long that could take. I’ve made quick deals in the past, so let’s hope for the same this time.
The second half of this video (episodes 8 thru 11) will be posted here as soon as they’re done, like the first hour was. My guess is in about two weeks, but I’ll post a clip or two before then. If I were to guess, the whole video, The Flash is Infuriatingly Inconsistent - Season 5 (Part 1), will be published in late November.
