KoD 0.4.0 Testing

Phew, we are finally to the point for testing. As said in previous posts we have been doing a lot of work additionally to improve the core engine of the game, rewriting major parts of it and investing a lot of time to show the shops as something visual you can witness from all that work. Additionally, as many have requested, we created a gallery that you can use to replay any scene you have seen - so you won't need all those CG saves much longer. ^-^  

The next update also has a very dynamic background for the arena, with multiple variants, on top of all the events. This update was very complex to get right, so it did take us longer than expected to tweak, finish, and internally test. But looking at what we have, we are glad to improve KoD into a better game to play for the long run.  

However, now we have reached the time to get more eyes on it and and make sure you can play it once the links drop, and with all the changes plenty of things can go wrong. The testing this time will take longer than usual because of that same reason of having to check multiple systems and paths, and also because saves no longer work (if you try to use them you can get stuck in a part that does not recognize the new values).

So do not make saves before the new version, they won't work for 0.4.0. And considering we want to improve more game features, a future system might break them too. However, this is why we feel its important to do that now, so that once we are deep into the game, you can have multiple playthroughs without fearing of them getting wiped.  

For the new version you can expect a lot of new characters that will play a role in KoD's future story. This is also one of the other things that took us plenty of time to get down with cleaning up the lore and adapting them in the game both in writing and art, but we don't want to spoil too much and we hope you like what we have in store.  

So in summary we do hope the testing goes smooth, but do not expect a release in a few days mainly because a lot of things have to be tested with the possibility of a major bug. We wanted to get this post out now, but we will start contacting all the testers first thing tomorrow.
