Today we're going to focus on a single one of the buildings we showed you several weeks ago, as each one has unique events attached to it. You can see the orc camp's training grounds above, highlighted by the mouseover effect.
Though KoD does have a level system, grinding Sabia levels will not be a major focus. You'll only receive experience from activities that are still a challenge for Sabia, leading to fewer but more interesting fights.
Sabia's strength in the game is more than just level, you'll have a variety of opportunities to strengthen her aside from gaining experience. That's where the training ground comes in! The orcs don't usually train humans, but they can be persuaded by payment or meeting the right conditions.
Each training session imparts a permanent bonus, and these can make a bigger difference than raw experience. Sabia at level 3 with no training would be weaker than Sabia at level 1 with all orc training completed, for example. Though in the first release we'll only begin to introduce this system, later on in the game it will offer more unique rewards for events. In addition to simple gold or items, you might have to choose between permanent one-time bonuses. Equipment will also play a major role in your fighting strength, but that's a topic for another time.
This is our last post of 2016! In 2017 we'll be bringing you some more information updates and character previews as we lead up to the release of Kingdom of Deception itself. We'll see you in the new year!
