Plans for this month :)
Added 2017-11-03 20:02:44 +0000 UTCHey guys, wanted to take a minute to go over my plans for this month
Main focus will be finishing Nightripper and Buzz-Saw Blood House. Like 100% finished
BSBH will be updated first. A lot of content was actually made for the game, an opening, a backstory and everything, but in the rush to get it released on Halloween, I had to leave it out. A lot of the music also got cut, so expect more story in the final version. The current one is a bit bare-bones.
A Nightripper update is also coming. A FMV cutscene has been made for the beginning of the game, and a whole new section for the middle. As I think I've said, I feel it needs some more content and more of a sleazy, late night feel. Think the new sections will definitely help in that regard. As well as more bug fixes and other features I went over.
Next game I want to return to is Pitchfork Massacre. I put this one on hold for a bit, but it's time to finish it. Making Nightripper knocked out a lot of coding I needed (music system, config menus) so I'm hoping I can finish the game relatively quickly. Not this month, but I do want to get a demo out. I'm going to make a guide soon to categorize my stuff. But basically
- Prototype / test: A small version just for testing a mechanic or getting some feedback about gameplay
- Alpha: Early version of a full game. Has an ending and probably 60%-80% of the content. May need bug fixes and editions based on feedback
- Beta: 100% of the content, but may need some bug fixes
- Demo: A short preview of the game. Usually a few levels or areas. Ends early to be continued in the full version
Pitchfork Massacre will be my true return to survival horror. The game is fairly similar to Babysitter Bloodbath with the feel of a cheap cash in 80s slasher (cast of teens getting knock off one at a time). The game revolves around solving puzzles and avoiding the killer.
PITCHFORK MASSACRE

(this game was on hold, but it's not dead. MCM is still coming too)
I've also started actively looking for a level designer. This would be a huge help in terms of saving time so I can focus on other aspects such as programming, puzzles. and better gameplay in general. The city in Nightripper for example probably took me 3 weeks to make, leaving way less time to finish all the stuff I'm still adding.
And finally I'm looking for some voice actors, if any of you guys are interested. I'll make a full post about it, but I would definitely love to have voice acting in Nightripper. I'm planning a steam launch in the near future so this would really tie everything together.
Comments
