Well I never expected to hear The Damned United referenced on the podcast!

None of the reviews of Frey's latest "Heaven" have picked up on the fact that Martin Amis already did this sort of "murder thriller satire" with sophistication in "Dead Babies" (1975).

Also, Brett's "Lunar Park" (2005) is funnier in its opening chapters about suburban life in the 21st century than anything by Frey.

I remember reading this losers million pieces book when it came out and stopped reading about 30 pages in because it seemed so obviously made up and fake. Totally unshocked when it came out weeks later that this guy is a fraud zero interest in what he has to say now. Sounds like this episode sucked?
