Comments

BEE & QT are my GOATs. I am going to watch Roadhouse and Slithis tonight.

Gloie

God DAMN Quentin T is insufferable

Happyhead

The NEXUS!

grainpulp

Thank god for Bret calling out how terrible joker 2 is. Tarantino’s reasoning is contrarian idiocy. The idea that Blowing a bunch of money on a piece of shit is complete gen x 90s ass punk brain. Fuck that shit. You made a good first film, and then you made a horrendous sequel that for me squandered any good will I felt towards Todd or Joaquin

Adam Lehrer

Toss Paul shrader or David lynch in here and we have a perfect table

Harry G

Gotta love Roger.

Harry G

I think about that Fiona Apple quote all the time which is why I'd want to be in the room w them lol

Florence

Co-writer, and not a producer.

J Hay

“One of the boys” said like William Burroughs on Dead City Radio.

James Beatty

same i would get lit up and try to go deep with them on why i think kubrick sucks and is overrated

Collin Myers

QT: “Madame Trudeau’s”. Is that like a woke Canadian version of Madame Tussaud’s? But in Tel Aviv?

David Willis

Not gonna lie — The Melvin Belli allusion made me feel like one of the boys.

James Beatty

I disagree. I would just hit the blunt and listen to Q.T. go off on a tangent and strap in for the ride.

R. M.

Aww Roger seems such a genuine warm guy. What a lovely ending.

Thomas Edwards

fun little interview… but nightmare blunt rotation for sure 😂

Nick Not Nolte

Could listen to these guys all day.

Iain

Another great podcast…and so great to hear how all of these artists work bounces off each other and creates new work and ideas, friendships…truly special.

Liska

don't forget the gay for pay one....

Poetical Gore

Wait, QT never saw The Outside Man!? That’s wild. It’s fantastic!

Damion Matthews

An Academy Award winning screenwriter and he directed The Rules of Attraction by B…

David Willis

This episode that the most heartwarming ending. Very uplifting and a lovely throuple indeed.

Sértő-Radics Sarolta

Happy(late) Birthday, Fredrik. And now Happy Halloween!

Ryan Dacko

Loved Roger's take. It's so fun listening to them outside the context of thier own podcast. Would loved to have seen the look on Brett's face during the " im just saying... " "I know I hear you" back and forth. Great show. More please. Anyone doesn't know Roger btw? Killing Zoe. Check it out

Dan Smith

Thanks!🙏

Fredrik Fahlman

Happy Birthday! 🎂

Dan Palmer

So I’m going to pay money to hear Roger Avery’s untalented nepo baby theories on film ?

Mister Farkel

I love KILLING ZOE. Picked it up on DVD back when it first came out. I need to pick up LUCKY DAY on Blu ray.

R. M.

Director of Killing Zoe, Rules of Attraction and Lucky Day.

N.M. Janice.

He wrote and produced PULP FICTION.

R. M.

Roger is annoying and over thinking this. Also who is he?

Andrew Harty

Same

Alek Krichilsky

Bret is correct that THE OUTSIDE MAN is a great one. I have an original copy of the poster hanging over my desk!

Bryan

Of course it is.

N.M. Janice.

Thought it was terrible.

N.M. Janice.

Loved this….👍🏻👏🏻

PETER GREER

In original recipe ROAD HOUSE, Dalton’s signature move is the throat-tearing-out, not the heart-tearing-out. That’s Temple of Doom you’re thinking of, maybe?

Podcat

Does all this praise for Joker 2 mean Quentin’s play is going to be a faggy musical?

The Lake Show

It’s not a top 5. It’s just not. I liked parts of it but it’s a flawed film. Lacks execution. It could’ve been great but it’s not. Most likely bc of budgetary constraints

Constantine

I liked the first one well enough. But I found Joker 2 far more creatively interesting and ballsy.

Richard Raymond

As someone who watched Personal Best for the first time within the last three years, it rocks. Also Bret is out to lunch on Civil War. It's a top 5 of the year

Richard Raymond

I hope that happens 😂

Normaling

I walked out with the same interpretation as QT but I wrestle with the question of whether it’s ok to fuck with an audience that paid to see your movie.

Harold B

Beware: QT will turn this into a scene one day 😬

Twan Van Geel

Did you like 1?

Harold B

You are remarkably consistent

Harold B

am going to listen on my run. will say more later, after my run.

richard owain roberts

Glad to hear Joker 2 get the praise it deserves. I felt exactly the same. It's one of the best movies of the year

Richard Raymond

Kernel by kernel….never again

Normaling

Bret liked that throuple comment a little too much

Nick @

yeah Joker: La Cage aux Folles is like The Loved One in being really boring

souleraser

Thanks!🙏

Fredrik Fahlman

QT is the director of my generation...but he likes a lot of terrible movies.

Poetical Gore

These two consecutive episodes might just be the best in the podcast’s history.

Trevor Tillman

Like Bret, I’ve almost stopped going to a theater. Like Quentin, I saw Joker 2 all alone in a giant IMAX theater. Three times! It was better and better each time. Will catch it one more time while it’s still on the big screen. Hard to imagine that there will be a better movie this year.

Allan Sherwood

Have a great b-day!🥳🍾

Allan Sherwood

Quentin's Joker 2 take might be his hottest take ever. Saying Joaquin Phoenix's performance might be one of the best he's ever seen in a movie is absolutely wild. I feel like I saw a completely different movie than he did.

Conor C

I could really go for another hour or two of this.

John Q. Thompson

Thanks!🙏

Fredrik Fahlman

Happy Birthday, Fredrik! Have a good day and enjoy yourself!!!

Sven Ackermann

Video Archives S02 premieres today which is also my birthday! 🥳🎉🙏
