Bo Derek acted the pants off that whale.

Morgan Hobbs

I dig this cat's commitment to physical media.

Benjamin Wayne

These young men in film seem blasé. Where’s the passion?

Virginia Gonzales

The young directors have nothing to say to me?

Steven Hamilton

You can get most of them on import blu rays but ya need the multi region playa.

RJ

I absolutely hated The Outwaters. Total wasted effort. Maybe everyone had fun and learned something, like a field trip.

Ryan Mcnabb

Me? Run? 🤔

Ashley

I have a special place in my heart for Wolfen. It was overshadowed by The Howling and An American Werewolf in London which both came out the same year. Wolfen's environmental message gets a little preachy, but overall it's a creepy and atmospheric movie. Very gory, too! It also shows a NYC that doesn't exist anymore. The burned out tenements in the South Bronx were the perfect eerie setting for an urban horror film.

Billy Schafer

He has like over 50 movies and a lot aren't even on blu ray or are expensive out of print. I have maybe just under 20 and a lot on dvd. Wish they did a better job of releasing those but like Woody says in his book once he finishes with a movie he's done with it and on to the next.

Alexander Quattlander

Was very ok.

Erick

I do tho. Although they’re mostly blu rays now.

RJ

I own every Woody Allen film on Blu-ray - except for the handful that aren’t available in that format, which I own on DVD.

Paul Richardson

No one owns every single Woody Allen movie on dvd. Calling him out on that one. And Midsommar was just a bad rip off of Wicker Man. But I enjoyed the second half film talk more than first half.

Alexander Quattlander

RJ

Brettt I love when you talk Vanderpump !! Go on Sexy Unique Podcast and go deep on why you think Katie Maloney has a problem!!

Matt Szmigiel

That makes one of us

Happyhead

Nice interview. Kid’s got good taste. I didn’t love THE OUTWATERS, but I’m interested in whatever he does next.

Graig Gilkeson

It’s good, except for the lighting. Too flat and bright for the interior scenes. (I’m referring to the original movie)

J Hay

Think about it on your run

M. Nero Nava

I found this ep super interesting. Maybe because I’ve been working on micro budget movies for the past 15 years, or maybe because I love when BEE talks creative processes, film, and film production with filmmakers. It feels like BEE in his purist state. Also, when BEE is attracted to an actor or recalls a moment of titillation—he lowers his voice and slow his speech pattern. It cracks me up.

M. Nero Nava

Sold !

Lionel

It’s true, Wolfen is great up until the ending. Also glad to see some love for Another Woman, Woody Allen’s most underrated film IMO.

Paul Richardson

I would say so.

Paul Richardson

Thought this was a great! Added The Outwaters to the watch list. Can’t wait.

Nick B

Todd is so much cooler than Bret though. Get Todd out of the mental hospital, kick Bret off this shit podcast, and let Todd take over. P.S. Bret is pretending to like The Outwaters.

slimshadyfan666

I really enjoyed this but I’m a movie brat. While I didn’t enjoy The Outwaters on the first viewing I think the mistake I made was that I watched it on my laptop. I will be rewatching on my TV as it’s currently on Tubi. I don’t really get the hatred this dude is getting because he speaks in a monotone, flat way. He’s a filmmaker not a fucking podcaster. We need to adjust our expectations. Anyone who goes on a podcast and praises Jaws 2 is worth listening to. I don’t really know what people expect from Bret anymore but to maintain a podcast and keep it to this level is very difficult. Also… fuck everyone in this chat who suggested Bret is pretending to like The Outwaters. You’re not genuine supporters and you can get fucked. You know where the door is.

David Willis

I remember The Wiz fondly (Nobody Beats the Wiz!). Electronics, music, movies. I don't think their stores branched out beyond the Northeast. Very big in the Tri-state area. It was referenced prominently in a Seinfeld episode. I'm pretty sure Tower came to New York before the '90s though. There was a Tower on Central Avenue in Yonkers, NY, near where I grew up. Movies downstairs, music upstairs. Pearl Jam signed autographs there in 1991; video exists on YouTube. I'm certain it was there at least since the '80s, but maybe I'm wrong and only remember it that way. Tower Yonkers closed in '03. It's a Toyota dealership now.😒

Billy Schafer

Love everything Woody Allen! Inspiring episode! Haters should be taking notes!

hollywoodending

Bret is great! Sometimes the guest is not! 🤷‍♂️

Knokkel knokkel

It’s shit, it’s pure garbage! It’s terrible. I love Bret but fell a bit sad for him praising this drivel! Jesus. 1/10 sorry!

Knokkel knokkel

It’s good , watching it now!

Knokkel knokkel

I hope BEE gives us a review of Love Lies Bleeding. Best new movie I’ve seen since 2019

Jack

Personally, Bret’s been letting us know for weeks now that Todd is going to be locked up for many many years and I’m super excited to hear Bret get his flirt on

Nikki Ferrari

😆 why do you think most of his fans are on the spectrum?

Nikki Ferrari

Great episode…thank you …

PETER GREER

I liked The Outwaters slightly more than Skinamarink. I found the latter interminable. I liked the aesthetic idea of the film, but the filmmaker completely failed to pull it off. Felt like a 100 minute amateur YouTube video. I like art films and slow cinema, but static shots of walls and hallways just don’t do it for me.

N.M. Janice.

Is Candyman worth a re watch ? I can’t remember much from it ….

Lionel

I love Interiors too. Interview got better as it went on.

N.M. Janice.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly!

N.M. Janice.

Seems like a very interesting young man. He appears to have unequivocally decided what he’s going to do, gone about achieving it and intends to keep doing it by whatever means, even if that means working in a restaurant (which actually sounds like a good laugh). Fair play to him. X

James__

If the podcast was free I would argue we as fans should be cool and pretend like we liked the movie too but it's not free and likely most of his fans are on the spectrum. That being said, as a straight male I will never in a million years get to lighly tease a girl over liking Jaws 2 and for that the podcast episode was worth it

Steven Kain

Ha! Same. I don’t buy it either!

R. M.

LOL totally. This was weird

maddie

Bret is really in IRS mode for this one. "What was the exact income level of your parents? How did you afford to go to school in NYC and how much were your loan payments and what is the interest? What was your exact salary at Greenpeace and how did you afford to live in Los Angeles while working there?"

Happyhead

Please go all the way, Ashley

Happyhead

I only made it 25 minutes in…is it worth going all the way?

Ashley

He's chill. He speaks French. He makes movies. He's got a ton of cool obscure movie knowledge. I'd rather that than someone who's more animated but vapid. Also, anyone who lists Interiors as their favourite Allen movie is good in my book.

Denisovich

I've listened to this podcast long enough where I don't believe BEE actually liked Outerwater. I think he had the director on his podcast because they hooked up or he wants to hook up with him. I was still dumb enough to watch the movie. The Jaws 2 conversation shoulda gave it away

Steven Kain

This sounded like BEE interviewing for a P.A.

Dan Palmer

Where Eagles Dare, yes! The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, yes!

Brian Kenna

Art is theft

David Hardin

Am I crazy or was there something salty under the surface with this guy? Or maybe it was flirty. 😂

Jon A.

am going to listen on my run. will say more later, after my run.

richard owain roberts

Don’t weasel in on his bit.

N.M. Janice.

Rich and I are going for a run . Will say more later

David Hardin

Gotta say The Outwaters is in a list of the top 10 worst movies I’ve ever seen. Easily worst of this decade

Jonathan Anoj

dude sounds like he doesn’t want to be there at all.

Oleg

Has Xavier Dolan been on the podcast ? If not, why not ?

Keith campbell

Every single Jaws movie is amazing 🏊‍♂️🦈🛥️🩸

Ashley

The Good The Bad and The Ugly is wonderful. '...Idiots. It's for you.'

Thomas Edwards

Haven’t listened to episode yet but that’s one of THE top Moz songs ever. 🙌

Patrick

🙂

RJ

I’m a staunch supporter of Vanderpump Rules talk

Clare O'Brien

Mike Brody 🔥

RJ

Interesting he seems to prefer big budget Hollywood flicks even though his approach to filmmaking is so hardcore indie. Will definitely check his new film out

Harold B

Never realized "Jaws 2" was so gay. Only saw it once though, will have to revisit.

John Q. Thompson

Not knowing this guy, I thought this was going to be a discussion about the Josh Brolin Amazon show "Outer Range."

John Q. Thompson

Love you Moz.

John Q. Thompson

This guy has no personality.

N.M. Janice.

The World is Full of Crashing Bores

Moz

The Outwaters and Skinamarink were two of the worst films I saw last year. However, I will give everything a second chance

JC

I'm delighted Banfitch finds Mallick's The New World to be a perfect film. I thought I was alone.
