Everyone is chasing the prestige format but doesn't necessarily have the resources or the core idea to really make it good. So we basically have a bunch of streaming services pumping out half baked stuff. I think it would help to go back to basics and make some really good procedurals like Law & Order and The Good Wife. It simply gets exhausting going through heavy character study after heavy character study and everyone trying to make their Breaking Bad. Let's get back to some good episodic storytelling where characters revolve around a place rather than the endless soul searching.
