Comments

have to say I was lucky to get asked to review this book before it came out on yt I loved it. I was 11 in 99 and a lot of the novel hit home and even into the early 2000s and my teen years

Cowboy and his books

For anyone that believes (or doesn't) that Alex doesn't have social media here's his Reddit handle: u/ARX-Han

Happyhead

No, Atremis

Nikki Ferrari

Bret read all these comments. Amazing.

Happyhead

Alex reminds me of a character in one of his books, specifically less than zero and rules of attraction.

KayCee

Agree. Lots of good stuff peppered in between the incessant giggling. Always love a Larry Clark Bully plug and hope that it motivates some younger listeners to watch it (fucking brilliant and you can listen to the OG LC podcast where he discusses it as well) or us older listeners to rewatch that movie. I will def do that. Thanks for the reminder, Alex! Decent convo between friends. No hate here.

Patrick

Great conversation. I bought his book. Mean to dig in to Shards next month.

Mateo

Not sure what all the hate for Alex was about. He's a little hyper, but I found these episodes entertaining, and some good questions/factoids about Bret as well. Looking forward to checking out 'New Millennium Boyz'

Thomas Matich

Thanks for Cullen Columbine rec! Reading now.

Alex Bielovich

Yikes.

Brad Elmore

Bruce eps are 95% bruce talking. this was a lot of BEE talking...well and being interrupted

Poetical Gore

You must be jesting.

N.M. Janice.

Biggest revelation was that James D regrets his choice of career! Sounds like Bret talked more about this cos there's an edit just after he mentions it - shame, would have been interesting to hear more.

GC

Any affiliation with Evan Dando of the Lemonheads?

Artemis Fedorchuk

I will take him over Bruce Wagner any day

Poetical Gore

As a queer kid in queer circles who hears that bullshit a lot, it basically means someone who doesn’t feel sexual attraction without a strong emotional bond first. Ergo, a made up sexuality for people who only fuck with feelings. It’s insufferable, considering the state of queer affairs right now, the last thing we need is people with faux tags trying to feel special eating up all the room.

Artemis Fedorchuk

Because there’s no logical definition. People like this grifter do this for the attention so he got what he wanted.

Tommy Stronach

At least the 1975 has proven to be marketable and not consequence of a grifter forcing himself into the limelight

sasha

Is the jealousy in the room with us or is it as absent as your father likely was

sasha

Men will pretend they like a writer because he doesn’t care about appeasing people’s egos or saying anything besides whatever his current whims are and then will expect to be the single special recipient of attention and affection it’s so sick

sasha

This guest is painful to listen to. He interrupts Bret too much and he’s really far up his own ass. I’ll upgrade my subscription level if you promise to never have this guy on again.

Tracy Stapleton-Lutkins

Bret straight up asks him what "demisexual" means at one point and he never gets around to answering

Happyhead

Did this make you want to run in front of a moving bus?

Tommy Stronach

According to wiki: “Alex is demisexual.” Lmfao. No thanks. Love you Bret but will wait for next guest/Q&A. I’d go to a Williamsburg bar at 2am if I wanted to hear the ramblings of a privileged self-absorbed twat with a contrived sexual identity.

Tommy Stronach

ohhh alex’s voice was just a notch more annoying this episode 🤣

Nick Not Nolte

Hall of Fame comment

Alex Waller

Alex may have grown up extremely privileged, but he looked hella sad in childhood photos. One could even say young Alex was afflicted with “malaise”. Must have been rough

Happyhead

You literally came here because your buddy linked you. This is hysterical stuff. Really funny. Alex is universally reviled and puts up a flare for support from some equally cringe tryhards. Good content.

BrienPiechos

My theory about Bret being a closet Madonna fan was confirmed when he said his favourite Madonna album is 'Erotica' - great taste Bret! Speaking of Madonna, Alex is a MAJOR name dropper. The most interesting part of the podcast was when he started asking Bret questions - was interesting to hear more about Glitterati.

Bazayer

Babe nobody cares

Nikki Ferrari

More likely Peter Schiff paid for it. He's on the lower rungs of where that money trickles down.

BrienPiechos

I stopped checking out your show when it became clear that you are not genuinely right wing in any meaningful way. All you and your whole NRX sphere do now is plead with the left to retain the barest modicum of masculinity. If there was a linear graph of where you plant your flag it’s just to the right of forced transgenderism. "Please, just let us keep our heterosexuality and we won't make any trouble," is about as right as you go. And that's what makes figuring you out a bit difficult, because you have to know what's really going on with all of the agendas and who are behind them that put us in this bind... right? So it’s difficult to discern whether you curb your content to remain on major platforms or simply identified a fissure you could exploit and springboard your own artistic aspirations which cannot find an audience because you aren't LGBTQBIPOC. The way you all rally around grifters like BAP is all anyone really needs to now. And if there is any value in what your crew does it’s providing a conduit to young men with genuine appetites for reclaiming their cultures and countries to get a taste of a half measure and move on to legit thinkers who mean business. I'm sure you were about to respond with some smug shit like "Thanks for listening to my content," which is about as clever a response as you're capable, but now you'll need another useless quip. Alex is indeed the voice of his generation and that's the problem.

BrienPiechos

Let's just get through this. :(

Harold B

Dude paid 5 dollars (or whatever the cheap tier costs) to post this

Happyhead

Let her cook

Happyhead

Not again

Happyhead

I don’t feel good about ‘piling on’ but that was hard to listen to. Over the years I’ve bought numerous books by authors I might not have known without this pod. It’s really, really hard to imagine anyone wanting to buy Millennium Boys after listening to Alex yelp and giggle like an over-excited child for two hours though. For me, his book is about as enticing as a 1975 album.

Stuart Chivers

Get a hobby.

Justin

Listen to everything we've done, actually. https://www.patreon.com/NewWrite

Matthew Pegas

Alex is the voice of his generation. Haters just jealous.

Matthew Pegas

richard, this pod episode is the anti-Vangelis, you will find yourself winded before reaching mile one.

Johnny Blade

Please stop.

Brian Kenna

It’s very odd, isn’t it? Im not often compelled to comment but there’s really something about this guy.

James__

Quite excellent. 🤭

James__

In case there was any confusion last time, Alex has made 2 appearances on New Write. The oldest one is the one I was referring to, which can only be described in the manner other BEE listeners have used: insufferable. If you love hating, it's worth the listen.

BrienPiechos

am going to listen on my run. will say more later, after my run.

richard owain roberts

…..on to the next episode.

PETER GREER

One of the most insufferable human beings I’ve ever heard speak. And a total fucking grifter

Moz

Ok, this made me actually LOL. Nice one. 😆

Patrick

I’ve had 5 a.m. cocaine conversations that’ve had less back channeling than this.

James

I’m going to start my fucking blog just so I can write a piece about how much I hate Alex Kazemi, Asskisser Extraordinaire. Jesus Christ, this guy is a nightmare, and his shallow insights that he thinks are highly intellectual (repeatedly using the word “malaise” doesn’t make you any less of a doorknob, Alex) are pathetic attempts to seem like some kind of tortured genius. Bret Easton Ellis isn’t your dad, Alex, he’s not gonna give you a cookie or a paternal clap on the back. Also… ragging on Gen Z for being terminally online whilst unironically referring to himself as demisexual? Gee, I’m really craving the metallic tang of a sawed off shotgun between my back molars right about now. What an unserious poser.

Artemis Fedorchuk

“Yeah, yeah, yeah…yeah. Yeah! Yeah…yeah, yeah! Yeah..Yeah yeah yeah! For sure, for sure. Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah no yeah…yeah no for sure, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. No no no no, yeah.” 🤪🔫

Ashley

Looking forward to part 2 of this convo! 🫣

Patrick
