Great episode, as always

Sodaheiress

That’d be great but he lives in NYC and his wife his very sick, I’m afraid the logistics of PS coming to LA would be complicated. I wish he’d do it though.

Matteo Persivale

I love the variety and scope of the B guests on the podcast. I enjoy hearing people I’m not familiar with talk about their universes whether or not I agree with them.

Mara Capozzi

I honestly can’t decide.

Paul Richardson

was it good?

Leonard Appleman

Just saw Beau is Afraid. Can’t wait for Bret’s review.

Paul Richardson

Great ep as always!

Calvin klein t shirts and lacoste polos feel like such an intense lean into Miami Cuban aestheticism

LOL at Bret not traveling simply because he doesn't think he can afford business class (he could if he just had an airmiles account)

Happyhead

I adore Bret and Adam’s dynamic. Also surprised Bret is eh about Depeche Mode. DP and Bret’s moody aesthetic sort of compliment each other. Lastly, does Bret have any interest in watching Beef on Netflix? That show blew me away. Best series of the year in my opinion.

👏👏👏

No-elle Gallagher he also said this season even tho Adam had JUST said Noel Gallagher. It’s the best. Good ol’ 🐝

Villim Defoe? Villim??

I remember back in 2013 I was walking along a street in Belfast, Northern Ireland and spotted Paul Schrader. Totally out of context moment. Ran over to him to say hi and he couldn’t have been nicer. Talked with him for about 15 minutes.

Christopher Ward

And in addition to Schrader, why not Irvine Welsh? Sounds like a great rapport with Bret over years, he’d be a great free thinker - immune to wokeism, a hedonistic intellectual with much needed centrist political leanings

Great ep- Greenaway rocks

Michael Anthony Rainey

"That's not a train you're spotting" - nice one 👏

Alex Bielovich

Great ep! BTW it’s pronounced Joel EDGE-erton…

Agency is ownership. So if a character is deceased from the start, that character has no agency over how they are perceived by other characters. So I guess, the Segal character is the only perspective we as audience get on his deceased wife. Needless to say, that article sounds like a bunch of bullshit.

Brian Rooney

Can we get Paul Schrader on again?

Vin Bravo

Palm Trees was definitely a throwback to when indies could be tough. Another recent film I think Bret would actually enjoy is Close.

Jon A.

am going to listen on my run. will say more later, after my run.

richard owain roberts

Saw a trailer for ‘Master Gardener’ at the theater the other night, going to catch this one in theaters for sure. There was also a great, long profile of him (as well as The National) in the New Yorker a couple weeks ago.

Thomas Matich

Paul Schrader does seem like he’d be a fun guy to have dinner/drinks with.

N.M. Janice.

Bret the hip-hop head, bumping Pusha T in WeHo! Also lol at Adam’s enunciation of Nas.

Thomas Matich

Your stepfather had a good reason to be shouting. Argentina won the world cup.

Stevan Popovic

Excellent episode…

PETER GREER
