SUDDEN DEATH RUN-OFF: Mr. Lonelyhearts vs. Business As Usual

Holy shit, the Topic Poll was so close that it finished within the margin of error! According to the Official B.E.E. Podcast Charter Magna Carta, a 12-hour special election sudden death run-off is mandated to be held. This is fuckin' wild!!! So for the next twelve hours, let freedom ring as democracy spreads its wings across the fruited plains.

damn fine filmmaker

Lundon Boyd

It’s not like podcasting is a real job.

Michael

This is so gay

Michael

Another example of our general obsession with fixing things that ain’t broke! I didn’t upgrade to platinum this year for Adam to move the goal posts and “ experiment”. Why not poll the subscribers on the topics to be discussed? I mean this ain’t a cookery podcast! It’s a cultural discussion podcast. If they start theming the questions I’m done! All you need is people to ask more interesting questions. Seems as if the whole world has gone mad! Now they want to ruin one of the few beacons of sanity left: the BEE podcast! Bret sort it out. Restore order now! This could lead to civil war on the podcast...

Philip Huntley

I listen to hear Bret talk about Art, Music, literatures, Film and TV, the culture at large and micro cultures. That as well as the general anecdotes and other bizarre tangents (though fuck do I never need to hear him talk about covid or politics again) So a themed q and a is fine if its about those subjects he seems passionate about... A lonely hearts episode feels like trolling and why the hell do I want to pay for that shit. Do it as a freebie bonus fine

Paul Rogers

If you just do the chaos version as it is now you can ask any question in any theme and he will answer it. He answers every single question every single time. Ask 20 love questions. 20 reality TV questions. 20 food questions. He will answer. Why not have it all?!

Patrick

The vanity of Bret relationship episode is intriguing

Tommy Stronach

Maybe Bret can work in food and wine with his love advice

Mary Walker

Imagine if your gf found out you took relationship advice from the man who invented Patrick Bateman. Not everyone was meant to do everything.

Michael

yep (and sometime filmmaker)

Joe Lynch

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Alex Lawrence

Is this The Movie Crypt’s Joe Lynch?

J Hay

Not that I think BEE’s love advice will be all that sage, but I guarantee you it will be entertaining

Sean Staab

democracy dies in darkness!

grainpulp

But...what about GALAXY OF TERROR?!?!

Joe Lynch

I ‘ll take either one but with more monologues. Side topic can you review “Return to Seoul?” Its a Korean film with “Worst Person in the World” vibes, but it feels like BEE was involved in the writing

Frank Formica

Novelty is the spice of life.

OHH

Variety is good. Everyone vote for the lonely hearts one.

Russell Reese

Aren't the Q&As already...talking about anything and everything?

Elizabeth M007

Giving a second chance poll when it’s obvious the usual format is just going to win feels like deliberate blue balling

sasha

I also vote for questions about love! What's with you people voting for a normal format?!

Thomas Rankin

Me too. I imagine they will at some point. Probably all the touring and book publicity makes them harder to write

Rory Kiberd

I also vote for the monologues :(

Thomas Rankin

I do miss the long monologues being a part of every episode

Claire Ginocchio

How about doing half-and-half. Bit of classic and a bit of lonely hearts

Rory Kiberd

I vote for longer episodes coming back!

Dustin
