Crazy that someone got doxed. That’s why I don’t use my real name

Sodaheiress

Great episide

Sodaheiress

It’s hilarious when Adam makes a quip that Bret finds funny but tries not to laugh

Sodaheiress

Sorry I missed you in Oslo 🥺

Knokkel knokkel

thanks so much! gutted - sold out too quickly..

Margaux

I hope George Michael doesn’t get a silly biopic like poor Freddie Mercury

Matteo Persivale

Prince Harry is totally freaking hot but hearing that he has never read a book has just knocked him off my fantasy list.

NLJZ

The only thing you post on here is about your stupid fucking run.

Stephen

Really tragic about Tom Sizemore. Are you guys going to post Bret’s interview w him from 2014?

Brent L. Smith

I always love the episodes where Bret says he’s in a strange mood.

Phoenix

What a great show.

Ben

Adam, please never let Bret see the questions ahead of time. It's just better this way. I always enjoy a Bret scripted opening but for the Q&A I like that he gets surprised, sometimes can't remember or just doesn't care. Great show, thanks!

Heidi Hendershott

Every time you think anecdotes can’t get more Toby Young, they do

Keith campbell

“Sutter Kane” is a reference to John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness FYI

Trevor Tillman

Hey - Any public events in Paris next March I could sign up for? Thanks!

Margaux

I enjoyed her. She didn’t do much q&a moderating, and let’s be real the couple questions asked weren’t very good altogether, so maybe it was for the best. (BEE made something of nothing and made the questions seem interesting)

M. Nero Nava

As some that regards himself as left of centre, the politics of the Shane Cashman pod didn’t bother me at all. The fact it was dull as dishwater is what got me. A dial tone of a conversation

Graeme

One of the pleasures of the BEE Podcast is its book and film recommendations. As a result, I’m reading - and reflecting on - David Mamet’s “Recessional” this evening.

Dave

Yay - they read my question out!

David Lowe

We were on our way to Runyon and I saw someone looking very much like George Michael and had some fun with it talking with my partner. About an hour into the hike we got the news he'd passed and since then I've been blamed for killing GM.

Travis Films

blah first question mentioning rachel kushner. she was a chill moderator, but terrible q&a handler. asked too many questions herself, whack.

Nick Not Nolte

I was at your Picador London launch for The Informers! I remember chatting to you and you were so charming until Toby Young literally elbowed me out the way to get to you. I hope that was Jon you re-met up with at Unherd. Great memories of a great era to be in publishing.

Stella Wella

Bret you should see the movie “Close.” Think you wouldn’t hate it.

Jon A.

That fucking SUCKS.

Nikki Ferrari

Especially since I’m talking about his role as a guest on the show. I can see Adam or BEE being annoyed with my harsh criticism, but he had no place. Then, to turnaround and use my words to image craft on posture on social media—it just confirmed everything I thought of him. My issue with these type of guests is we get into this ideology over aesthetic show. My deep love and fandom for this show is how seriously BEE takes aesthetic over ideology. So, yes, Cashman began posting my words because he was upset with my opinion. I means what’s the difference between canceling someone and throwing a hissy fit because someone didn’t enjoy them on a show. I make art, some people like it, tons don’t. I don’t have issue with someone who doesn’t.

M. Nero Nava

Very sad. People shouldn't have problems because of their opinions

Jorge Espinha

am going to listen on my run. will say more later, after my run.

richard owain roberts

Love the Q&A episodes. 👊

Patrick

Thanks Brett. “Writing was more interesting than drugs” is all I needed to hear to understand how to prioritize

Harold B

I’ll have to look into that George Michael book. I def think he was a singles artist with ‘Faith’ being the best album he made, which still has its duds. But it’s easy to see why it was such a huge, Grammy winning record. He created a new male pop star template with that record that was highly influential, to this day. George at the top of his game (“Freedom ‘90”, “Careless Whisper”) is up there with the greats for sure, definitely cemented his legend status.

Thomas Matich

Yeah, man. Sorry to hear that. Crazy. I don't get people coming here essentially looking for trouble. You must have really touched a nerve.

bpvalentine

Mad cult behaviour.

Stevan Popovic

Cormack McCarthy also notable for The Road which inspired the immersive PS4 hit game The Last Of Us (also mentioned in Qs).. in turn such a hit as to be made into a show on Netflix. Quite the trifecta. Ps Brett's definition of a nothing day puts the rest of us to shame.

Thomas Edwards

What a bunch of fucking losers these people are. Anyone that would attempt to harass someone at their work for comments they made on the internet is a bully, a petulant child and a parasite. How can you even take anyone seriously or entertain the point of view of someone who behaves that way? I guess the snowflakes fall just as hard on the right as they do the left. Again, sincerely, sorry Nero.

N.M. Janice.

Thanks.. i was a tad surprised, the reaction was super unreasonable. He sort of proved me right. So, whatever. Again, thanks

M. Nero Nava

I’m not a “woke” person, certainly not a red pill guy. I won’t open up the whole thing again, but yeah, I was doxxed. People were filling my inbox with threats, began prank calling my job, and reporting my posts on IG. All because I made a joke after learning Cashman was quoting me on these here platinum comments. He posted a phrase/quote from my comment I commented (I said “if you’re going to use my quote at least credit me”) then he tagged me in a story (in a mocking way) and people began harassing me. Some people posted my address, others shared were I worked. It was more of a nuisance … and frustrating since I don’t engage in internet fights. My critique was harsh, maybe. His response was childish.

M. Nero Nava

Sorry that someone fucking doxxed you, Nero. That’s absolutely garbage and inexcusable. Regardless of any differences of opinion or ideally, there is no excuse for that trashy, childish behavior. What a dumb culture we live in.

N.M. Janice.

I love CMC - agree to start with the trilogy which I did as they came out In The 90’s and in my 20’s (sigh) then to blood meridian and on and on
