I couldn’t care less re: 80’s v 90’s Cruise (the whole thing has to be a trolling of the audience) I do love how the Frank T.J. Mackey 818 phone number in the movie actually worked (you’d get rotating clips from Frank’s workshops) and did so for a few years after the movie came and went. One of Paul’s authenticity obsessions that you’d have no idea existed from watching the film, but feel it (the commitment to a sort of deep verisimilitude) nonetheless.
