Def Tobey McGuire vibes.

I recommend checking out the Madonna interview on Fallon BEE references. Just wow. Hopefully Christian Bale can use for inspiration.

Brett is wrong about Mank being all CGI. I think it was mostly shot on location. Gary Oldman’s wife is a photographer and shot some great colour photos on the film’s locations and it would have been a wholly different experience in colour. The movie’s phoniness comes from the dreadful, digital monochrome cinematography. I couldn’t believe it won an Oscar for Messerschmitt, especially as it was his first film as DP. In the past an Oscar would be a high point of a DP’s career, a crowning achievement, but today, it’s hard to know what an Oscar truly represents. The wall to wall, faux “Bernard Hermann” score didn’t help either!

New final question: Have you ever been to Bennington?
