B.E.E. Podcast Cyber Receipt - 8/23/20 - Tom Cruise Deep Dive Part 2: Dive Deeper with Nic Pizzolatto
Added 2020-09-04 13:35:41 +0000 UTC
Thank you for your pledge! Bret, Nic and Tom were a killer combination. We're grilling up a new episode for Labor Day weekend with a guest whose words appear in many books and movies. You may have seen the rumors online regarding who it is, and there is a definite kirnel of truth to the rumors. Gold on Friday night, Silver on Sunday. Hope you are well, strong and safe.
This is sooo good. Brett def is a Trump guy like me

@Jefferson: exactly this. These two episodes were super, also owing to the fact that Nick seems like a really cool guy.

This Tom Cruise focused episode might be one of my favorite ones of all time. I love the deep dive and third party retrospective that allows more candor than if the person was in the room. Would love to see more stuff like this. Also it was a nice break to have a "politics free" discussion, as politics has taken over and tainted everything in modern life, as Brett correctly points out in his opening.

These 2 episodes were a fantastic change of pace and I loved them. Have you considered doing more of these with different guests? Deep dive on QT? Hitchcock? Fincher? Brad Pitt?

Why didn't the subject of Tom Cruise's closeted gayness come up?

Any ranking of Kubrick films that does not have Lyndon and EWS in the top 5 is unserious.

I know he might be an unreliable narrator, but look up Artie Lange’s story of an encounter he had with Tom Cruise while working on the set of Jerry Maguire. Sounds like a total dickhead if true

Loved the last episode. Huge True Detective fan, the first season just might be the best tv I’ve ever seen.
Thanks too Bret for recommending Once Upon A Time In The Valley a while back. Loving it so far.

I just had the pleasure of talking to Tom Cruise on location in Norway shooting a MI film. Very surreal chatting with this mega star behind face masks. I’m surprised how humble but “straight to the point” he was.

This season has been absolutely stellar, love that the show brings on people of widely differing careers and views and the monologues have been next level, thanks for the awesome work.
To Bret and Adam, I loved the run of horror director interviews you did in the early days of the pod and I’m keen to hear Bret talk more horror. Would you consider getting the new wave of directors on? Ari Aster, Mike Flanagan, Julia Ducornau, Oz Perkins etc.
