This was a GREAT episode! PS: Any time you want to start the Bible group, I’m here for it...plus, even though I wasn’t an archeologist in Jerusalem, I am pretty good at giving context and background, without doing the “hot takes” of proselytizing. Hit me up when you’re ready to launch.

2021-02-12 20:14:20 +0000 UTCI'm in the middle of reading the excellent new biography of Sylvia Plath ("Red Comet" by Heather Clark) and I can say with that authority that Plath DID discuss typewriters at length with her mother (who was a professor of secretarial skills at Boston University), her brother, boyfriends, and other writers. In fact her typing skills were legendary at Smith College, where she typed on a Royal portable. Then her mother gave her an Olivetti Lettera, which she used to type all of her own and her husband's manuscripts, as he scorned typing as women's work. Her final poems and "The Bell Jar" were both written on her final typewriter, a seafoam green Hermes 3000. The Hermes is considered one of the best typewriters ever made and Plath's auctioned for $33K in 2018. /poetrynerdrant
