In the future of Partners, simple guides and companions modeled after company and location mascots are commonplace, especially with regards to things like theme parks. Though they aren't people, per se (as having something artificial that was that smart would creep post-splicers out quite a bit), and don't really act like it, they tend to present as friendly cartoon characters which endears them to younglings and adults alike. You can even download versions of the mascots to talk to you at home via the PETnet! ...of course, that means that occasionally, one finds versions that have been... modified somewhat for a more... unique experience.
