The Next Prince Episode 4 Reaction

Ah so they were inspired by the whipping boy thing which was when princes weren't allowed to be physically punished so a boy was educated alongside a prince (or a boy monarch) and would received corporal punishment for the prince's transgressions in his presence. The idea was that seeing a friend punished would provide an equivalent motivation not to repeat the offence. Super fucked up and ripe for tropes in future fiction and it has inspired many written works.

Playing a little catch-up here with thoughts I've had for these 4 eps.. • When we learned that the Martins have a long lost son, my first thought is that it's obviously Charan. But then (for some reason) I was thinking that maybe it's Vedish. Regardless on who the son may be, I have a feeling that King Addams knows a great deal more on his disappearance than he lets on. • I don't trust the King. Grandpa is fucking conniving. Hell, I think he's just as bad as Daddy Brown, but King Addams masks himself well. The fact that he's willing to cause a great amount of pain and suffering to Khanin by making him think his father is dead just so he'll compete in the fencing competition is diabolical. At this point, my mind is juggling with the idea that King Addams is actually the instigator in Princess Khunita's death. Maybe Tharin wasn't obeying him or something so he "removed the distractions" so his son could focus. Now, he's trying to do the same with Khanin and Charan. Down the line, he'll realize he can't control the westernized Khanin so he'll attempt drastic measures targeting Charan.

OMG …..you don’t have to say the leads don’t have chemistry and can’t act lovingly. Unc Brown got issues when you take your anger out on your son’s boyfriend baby you need Jesus. Not the condom pillows lmao! I’m enjoying this show so much it’s all the background, clothing, scenery that does it for me more than the script.
