Hurricane Threat for Eastern Gulf

The GFS, NAM & ECMWF all resolve the storm strengthening and heading east toward Florida. If this plays out we could have another strong hurricane making landfall perhaps as early as Wednesday morning. Those in the path might want to start making some plans. It would be extra unfortunate if the victims of Helene have to deal with this one as well. GFS followed by ECMWF...
Regarding Autumn supercell chases in the Plains, the GFS Supercell Composite resolves only the weakest blips over the next week. Mother Nature seems to deliver two chase-able events in October. 'Til then, I'll be working on a new YouTube video.

Iβve been watching the aftermath and I work the insurance claims that will result from these major hurricanes. Itβll be interesting to see if this surpasses Ian from 2022.

2024-10-13 19:28:41 +0000 UTCNot sure where to post this. I thought there was a thread where the community posts their storms and such. Anyway, I saw the Northern Lights October 10th!! Southeast PA could see it only through a camera. It was a very faint pink haze but it could have been missed if I didn't know about it. I'd like to share a picture or two, but not sure how! π
