Chapter 63 - The Food Situation

After the conversation with Lila, we both figured that it was best to get some sleep before doing anything else. The muffled sounds of thunder and crashing lightning outside lulled us to sleep pretty easily.

My slumber was undisturbed throughout the night. No dreams or anything to speak of. I find that since my reincarnation, my sleep have always been dreamless.

I don't know if there's some sort meaning behind this.

Could be something to do with my reincarnation itself, or maybe it's nothing and I'm just overthinking things as I usually do.

I don't know.

Probably just run-of-the-mill paranoia.

"Hey..." I hear Lila's voice call out.

My eyes snap open and I turn towards her, seeing that she was kneeling down beside my bed.

"How long has it been?" I asked as I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

"I don't know, there's not really anything here to use as a measurement of time." She says.

"There's a clock on the ship's computer. Just turn it on and check." I told her, groaning as I stretched out my arms and legs.

"I don't know how to work any of that stuff." She says.

"Oh... Right..."

I forget that ship controls aren't exactly common knowledge for most people.

"Remind me to set a timer next time." I say as I stood up and went inside the cockpit, turning on the main terminal and checking the time.

"Wow..." I hear Lila mutter behind me.

I turn and see her looking at all the flashy lights and buttons.

"First time being in an alien spaceship?" I asked sarcastically.

She gives me a blank stare and I let out a chuckle.

"This is amazing. You mortals came a long way since I've been... gone..."

Her eyes turn downward and I cast a sympathetic look at her.

"If you want, I could teach you how to fly it." I offered, hoping to distract her with the prospect of flying a spaceship.

Hell, if I was sad, flying a spaceship would make me feel a little better. That's just me though.

She glances up at me with a smile and nods her head, "Yeah, that sounds great..."

"You wanna do it now, or..."

"No, we can do it some other day. Right now is time for me to keep up my end of our little deal." She says.

"Alright then." I shrugged.

I was honestly going to give her a couple days to decompress. She was just crying her eyes out yesterday. But if she wants to train, then I'm all for it. It's been a while since I've fought someone stronger than me.

"But before that, we should have breakfast." She says, going to look around at my ship.

"Breakfast?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, breakfast. What, you want to train on an empty stomach?" She asked, going through multiple containers. "Where's the food?"

"I didn't pack any." I told her.

"What?" She asked, turning to look at me with widened eyes. "You didn't pack any food?"

"Nope." I replied, shaking my head.

"Why? How do you expect to travel around space without packing any food?!" She asked, looking at me like I was an idiot.

I take the pouch of Senzu Beans out from my ring and toss it over to her.

"The beans?" She asked, looking at me with an even more annoyed expression.

"Eat one." I told her.

She raises an eyebrow at me and narrows her eyes suspiciously.

"Just do it. You saw me eat one yesterday, didn't you?" I asked.

She looked back down at the pouch, letting out a sigh before grabbing a bean and plopping it into her mouth. I hear the Senzu Bean crack as she bit down in it. After swallowing, her eyebrows shoot up and she looked down to her stomach.

"What the... I'm not hungry anymore..." She mutters with shock written all over her face. "What are these beans?!"

"They're called Senzu Beans." I replied, stepping in front of her and grabbing a bean for myself. "Found them growing on planet some odd years. Fills your stomach, heals you, and replenishes your stamina."

Her eyes widen and she looks at the pouch with reverence.

"How in the Seventh does that even..." She murmurs softly, unable to fully comprehend how one bean could do so much.

She took a few moments to gather herself before shaking her head and saying, "E-Even so, you should still have a better diet than some miracle bean!"

"Why? I get everything I ever need from one bean. Saves so much time." I told her, not seeing the issue.

"Are you seriously telling me that you get everything you ever need from one tiny, green bean?" She asked with an incredulous look on her face.

I cross my arms and look at her with a blank expression, which causes her to do the same.

We stay like that for a while, just staring into each other's eyes, refusing to back down. Eventually, I grow tired of the nonsense and let out a groan.

"Fine, after training I'll use the Dragon Balls to... I don't know, make us a machine that gives us whatever food we want, or whatever." I told her, rolling my eyes.

"Good." She nodded happily before heading out of the ship.

I shake my head and follow her out, wondering why I even brought her back in the first place.

I should've just revived the South Supreme Kai...

"Did you say something?" She suddenly turned and asked.

"No." I told her.

She looks at me suspiciously before heading on her merry way.

Definitely should've revived the South Kai...

"Okay, I want you to come at me with everything you got!" She yelled from across the clearing.

"You sure?!" I yelled back.

"Positive! How can I train you if I don't know how strong you are?! Don't worry, I can take it!" She responded.

"Okay then..." I muttered to myself as I hunched down low and smirked. "You said not to hold back..."

Lila got into her usual stance, ready for Zyleth to come at her. She got a pretty good read on him before his transformation, so she was fairly confident that she could take whatever he threw at her.

As long as he didn't transform that is.

Waiting for his move, her eyes narrowed as he hunched over, ready to counter whatever he did, but what happened next stunned not just her, but Zyleth as well.

Almost as if he had teleported away, Zyleth disappeared from view. Lila was thinking that he actually did teleport away, but that thought quickly fades when she heard a long sound coming from behind her.

Turning on her heal, she saw that the mountain behind her had a hole going straight through it.

It didn't take long for her to realize who the offender was, as Zyleth was standing directly in front her, his fist outstretched towards said mountain.

"Oops..." Zyleth muttered, clearly not meaning to do that.
