2025-05-10 01:03:10 +0000 UTCmy general tattoo regret immediately went away when i got my first coverup. the original was very pretty but served too many bad memories. i still think long and hard about tats i want (and will likely never do matching tattoos with someone again), but having that piece taught me that some things dont have to have meaning. maybe they're just pretty :)

2025-03-22 09:46:23 +0000 UTCPersonally, my biggest issue with Universes Beyond is UB packs are going to cost more than other, non UB standard set packs - when we already had a pack price hike recently with the introduction of play boosters - so it only further increases the cost of drafts and other limited events. I do have some more nuanced complaints about the story behind the sets and how UB effects that - but the Discourse really is largely the loudest men online just screaming till they're red in the face that their favorite* game is changing and bad. *(they've been lowkey hating the game since Richard Garfield left over a decade ago)

2025-02-23 14:42:38 +0000 UTCI really have appreciated Pete’s openness about his mental health challenges. Him talking about his huge tattoo removal is more raw than people realize. He talked about using tattoos as self harm & covering self harm scars with them. Him getting them removed seems to signal his place in recovery. So many people, even therapists, don’t believe that men can have BPD. (source: I’m a social worker) BPD is also so incredibly stigmatized that having a beloved dude like Pete discussing his dx, humanizes others w/ BPD. While it definitely wasn’t great that he’s been huge in the public eye, I appreciate him. Love any men who are empathetic & open about their mental health challenges (clearly)

It is about the 1956 Olympic water polo match between Hungary and the Soviet Union, which takes place at the same time as the Hungarian revolution. For people in the US, it’s free on Tubi. Another doc free on Tubi: Southern Comfort is a 2001 doc about Robert’s Eads, a trans man dying of ovarian cancer. Obviously, warning for transphobia. There is also some racism if I remember correctly but I haven’t watched it in 10 yrs so I can’t give any more specific warnings other than it is super sad. Final rec: Harlan County, USA is on Max. It is a 1976 doc about a miner’s strike in Kentucky. Note: I thought this was one of the best documentaries I had ever watched and my friend thought I was the most boring, so ymmv!

2025-02-22 22:42:52 +0000 UTCWith the Pete Davidson tattoos thing he's talked before about how he was getting them as a form of self harm, so it kind of makes sense to me why he would Lazer them off completely. In an interview years ago he said he started covering cutting scars with the tattoos and then replaced the cutting with the tattoos so they were all from when he was manic or experiencing poor mental health seeking pain. I think the Fallon interview is probably him addressing it in a PR way without having to go so deep. I can understand not wanting to carry a reminder of those times around with you.

I think she used to do harness racing at an amateur level as well. My grandparents had a farm and she used to breed and train ponies. Nikola Jokic is truly living his best life. I just looked it up and he used to do harness racing when he was younger. If you google "Trotting Is Jokić’s First Love" there's a cute article about it with old photos.

It's a Brazilian documentary (subtitled in English), free on YouTube, where they interview the residents of the penthouses in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Recife. You get to watch these incredibly rich people make absolute fools of themselves on television. Content warnings for racism, poverty, and violence.
