When I was little I used to sort my brother's magic cards all of the time, and had clear favourites and least favourites but no clue of how to play it. Didn't learn to play the game until I was a teenager, where it would be pretty 50/50 on who won between the two of us, except for when he played a specific white deck that synergised super well. He always won when he played that, until I build a wolf themed deck (the first time I bought singles to build a deck instead of putting one together from the cards we already had), got to absolutely flood the board with wolf tokens, and beat him with my wolf army. That was a great time XD

2024-06-18 18:25:38 +0000 UTCAnother really funny thing that came from the cards being inadvertently played together, they wanted to change the back of the cards to be more "thematically appropriate" or something. There's concept art online of the back of Arabian Nights cards, and it looks a lot better than the current back imo. It was bright pink/purple instead of brown, and had "Arabian Nights" written on the back. Anyway, because people would play different cards from different sets together, they couldn't print the different card backs, because back then nobody would play with sleeves, and knowing you had an Arabian Nights card on the top of your deck, for example, you'd be able to cheat in many ways.
