2024-09-26 12:05:01 +0000 UTCWhat you SHOULD try is bannock. Shit is fire. Edit: I should specify the canadian type indigenous people make. Bannock with meat stew is heavenly.

2024-07-11 20:15:20 +0000 UTCWatching this being from the south but having lived in the UK I feel very seen by this biscuit discourse

2024-06-29 22:41:55 +0000 UTCEvery time I see a video of basketball I’m reminded that it’s only interesting to me in person lol

2024-06-13 10:34:42 +0000 UTCSo 1066 is when the British monarchy technically started, with William the Conqueror being the first king of England, he was French and that’s why the language was French
Joshua Haskett
2024-05-18 14:01:57 +0000 UTCHearing Jordan talking about hypermobilty and being diagnosed with EDS ❤️

2024-05-05 06:13:14 +0000 UTCNo one's gonna talk about the fact that there's an NBA player named Pops?

2024-03-22 18:28:00 +0000 UTCI feel like the middle between a croissant and a dense dinner roll is a better balance comparison cause you don’t really get the flakiness in a roll or a scone
Sarah S
2024-03-22 05:09:38 +0000 UTCNorthern Ireland mentioned!!
Odhran Curran
2024-03-19 13:27:02 +0000 UTCAs an Australian who's lived in America - you can't really compare biscuits to anything we have. I think people say scones because they look the same from the outside, but it's really its own thing.

2024-03-17 08:42:26 +0000 UTCI rolled my ankle so many times as a kid when I was playing in the woods alone and never mentioned it to anyone because it was just that normal 💔
Max Parkin
2024-03-14 14:57:49 +0000 UTCGod it’s so EDS core to just straight up roll your ankle and be like “nah I’m ok, this happens all the time” 😭
Max Parkin
2024-03-14 14:55:57 +0000 UTCjarvis needs to go on or host an NBA show or something, as much as i love him introducing it to someone new, i also wish someone more knowledgeable could hit the metaphorical tennis ball back

2024-03-11 19:58:32 +0000 UTCAlso thank you Jarvis for not including the republic of Ireland in the definition of great Britain/uk, far too many people still think we're part of it 🙃 /gen
Beau
2024-03-11 09:10:16 +0000 UTCAs an Irish person who lived in America for a few months Jarvis is so right about like, the expectations of eating a biscuit lol. I was expecting something dense and heavy like a scone but they're much lighter and flakier and honestly were really tasty
Beau
2024-03-11 09:07:30 +0000 UTCRacquetball and squash actually are different, the balls and rackets are both slightly different. And people do play squash in the US but mostly in the northeast/Mid-Atlantic.
Ina
2024-03-11 07:30:00 +0000 UTCJarvis is right, biscuits are a kind of quickbread. The difference is using a chemical leavener (baking powder) instead of a biological leavener (yeast). Most biscuits also use the mechanical leavening of cold butter, which gives you those flaky layers. Baking is science!
Eddie Ackerman
2024-03-11 05:18:43 +0000 UTCSo technically yes amendments are additions to the Constitution but the first 10 aka the Bill of Rights were added immediately bc it wouldn't have had the votes to pass without those!

2024-03-10 21:06:22 +0000 UTCI studied linguistics at uni and did an exam on place names with old norse origin in the Danelaw part of England and back before that period of french influence, old norse and old english were mutually intelligible - sorry had to provide one niche interest fact after that question. Also happy to hear you can't kill Karlach - she's the best!

The quizzes are such a great feature in the podcast and are really engaging content. All of you are incredible at your jobs and I'm grateful for the entertainment! Great job Boyz (Boyz includes Jacob I'm sure we can all agree)

2024-03-10 14:28:50 +0000 UTCPlease play the original Baldurs Gate 1&2 they are absolutely worth playing and some of the best games of all time. You can even do co op, someone can walk you through how it works and then let you go to play the rest.

2024-03-10 03:17:33 +0000 UTCFor the record, Canada (the British) actually did beef with the USA in the War of 1812. Canada burned down the US Capitol building in Washington, D.C. I think that was before the stuff with Mexico but the British get the credit for that move since we only got our independence from Britain in like the 80s.

2024-03-10 01:32:55 +0000 UTCThere it is :)
