Director section - I think you are actually a shitty director if you have to terrorize people to get a product. I also think method acting is absolutely ridiculous, but that's a whole other story. There is proof that directors who foster a great work environment can achieve amazing things and look, it doesn't create or continue the cycle of generational trauma 🙃

2024-08-22 04:17:55 +0000 UTCLate, but the section where Jordan talks about how directors get credit for getting good acting out when they abuse and hurt the actors/writers/crew on set reminds me of the several directors commentaries on Children-Led emotional movies (example: Stand by Me) where the directors brag about making the children cry during the emotional moments by telling them traumatic things and making them think about horrible things happening to their parents like, truly awful things and they *brag* about it. It sucks, I guess, is what im saying

It's a little techie of a topic. However, primarily it is about how Reddit's CEO resorts to some of the slimiest tactics to justify their slander, lies and manipulative icing out of people who helped make the platform into what it is today. Apollo for Reddit is an application, but not only that, it's a passion project that originated with Christian Selig, a student fresh out of college, whose app's first launch had Reddit so impressed they hired him on the spot, but now they are forcing him to shut down the platform by June 30th :( There's a story that's not really being discussed in the YouTube community, and it's pretty devastating the tactics Reddit has utilized to clean house before taking the company public, just like what Twitter did earlier this year. It might disappear, and if it does, I have saved a copy, but there is a recording between the two parties that depicts that Reddit sees Christian's advancement of their GUI as a third-party client as a threat to the company's future. The sad thing is that if Reddit weren't so fixated on its bottom line, they would realize that Christian Selig doesn't want to steal Reddit for himself. Honestly, if Apollo's app creator weren't Canadian, he would be sued not only into silence, but they would probably bankrupt the guy.
