26 Coors Bottle Render (Octane) - Part 02

Alright here's the good stuff!

Composition, lighting, materials and post effects on this one.

This is my first Octane tutorial on here so please let me know what you all think. Hope it's good!

Hey Alex! Glad you liked the tutorial! Always good to hear that for sure. On your question about mixing displacements feel free to reach out on DM and share a screenshot of how you are setting up your nodes so I can help. But basically I think the displacement node in Octane doesn't like mixed textures without first baking them into a single texture so yes, I think you have to run it through a bake texture node and select the resolution you want the texture to be baked at. I haven't tried it by just mixing two textures but with the approach I was doing for this bottle, it had to be run through the bake texture node.

Awesome Stuff! Lots of good tips in here! Excited to take what you've shown here and apply it to my renders and learn Octane. My only question that I am having a hard time trying to find/figure out is how to combine textures for displacement. I have a bottle that has displacement details and I am using a Noise node and trying to combine that with a gradient ramp to feather out the transition in the bottle. After those are combined you have to bake them before going into a displacement node correct? If that is correct then how come the bake texture node transforms my displacement map into something not even close to what I had?
