Back in the hospital

Martin continued to have escalating complications from his Ulcerative Colitis and was readmitted in the hospital on Monday. Which, as it happens, is also my birthday. We are hoping to have him home next week but it will currently depend on his response to new medications. We appreciate your patience in the meantime. We're both feeling knocked down right now so we're focusing on the basics.
Thanks for your kind words on all our previous posts about this. We can definitely feel your love and support in all of this chaos, and it is such a relief. ❤

I see you are back in the hospital again; I just wanted to post and say that I hope you remember that nearly 1000 people love you enough to pay you to do nothing but keep breathing for us. That's all I'd ask of you. We already got enough laughs from you to last a lifetime. All you need to do is hang around long enough for us to pay you back.

My mom struggled with ulcerative colitis, and it’s debilitating and awful. Sending you both so much love—you’ve got the strength of all of us behind you both amidst this chaos. I hope you both are finding moments of joy and laughter in the cracks between the darker moments.
