Short answer: It's not editing; and the field has protections to prevent long term issues. Long answer: The fix for a variant is based on what it does. If you make BRCA1 variant (let's say rs41293463) behave like its T;T version, then for sure call it a fix. In other cases, it's more complicated (like rs1800795 in IL6), because the change, even if positive at first, would have a considerable side effect somewhere else in the body (even if it's not related to the change in the snp itself, but as a side effect of how your body is behaving now).
