Seventeen Project: Debut Big Plan Ep.2

The passion each and every one of them has for this is so apparent. Loved getting to see a bit of the recording and choreography processes!

in reference to your conversation at the end, i do think the main problem i have with their feedback as judges is that they don't give constructive criticism. they're just like wow you sucked, but don't give any ideas to make something better. there's no point in tearing someone down, if you aren't going to give them to tools to improve. idk just my thoughts throughout this episode.

kat

We're talking about their lolla performance! We're not sure if or when we'll be reacting to it. But we'll let you y'all know soon ❤️

B&T React

it's actually so fun rewatching this with you guys. and seeing young bumzu and hyelim, who you might also remember from nana tour, it's crazy they've been together since pre debut.

When Bri showed the picture of cheolie at Lollapalooza and giggled, my only thought was "i was there, i saw this scoups!" it still feels like a fever dream and if you decide to react to the Lolla stage then i'll definitly have to bring some tissues hehe Thank you for your response and for looking the Svt project with us <3

I watched this show in anger when I 1st saw it. I was like god damn give these guys a break. But knowing where they are now, Im grateful. Im sure they see this as a traumatic lesson to learn but god lord I could never.

Yeah, this show can be tough to watch because they do intentionally push them to add drama. Personally, it doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as any survival show? I can't watch those because the stakes there ARE real, you're really watching kids lose out on the chance of their dreams. Here, they may be being overly harsh but it's a staged production and at least the members know it won't actually effect them debuting. Still, you're going to need to push through a bit more, DK crying is the low point for me! The show gets better as it goes though, good moments are coming too. I really feel for them here because the "reality show" obstacles just aren't the challenges they would have as professional performers, they'd at least know where they were performing and get a chance to check out the stage first. They were getting set up to fail a bit at first, to give them an arc on the show. But when I listen to the critique, they are still mentioning they want to see the things that Seventeen is strong at and the things they get stronger at with time. Hyelim-sem mentioning their expression and energy isn't matching yet in rehearsal just goes to show how much work they put in to build the key strengths that Seventeen becomes known for. I also feel like one interesting part of this episode is that you get a window into the pressure of being a leader? It's not just a title, all three of them did have additional expectations to pull the members or the performance together. I'm really glad that those pressures eased as they all gained experience and became just One Team but you can see that it didn't start out like that.

topazera

no fr i do this too😭

Bri mouthing along despondently to the final shining diamond's 'yeah' during the credits killed me lmaooo!!! honestly such a good representation of the emotional rollercoaster of this series

Three plus years of being a carat but I could never muster the courage to watch this, but I am glad I am doing it with you guys. It breaks my heart a little every time I see them being so harsh on themselves especially the leaders, who were so young themselves. The fact that Pledis was nearly bankrupt( notice the mics taped to their faces and no in-ears, early seventeen used to perform with cheap earphones taped as in-ears, since that’s all they could afford) and kept delaying their debut, so the members had to pick up different parts of a performance like composing, choreographing and production, will always be a reason I have so much respect for their grit and determination. Today they are absolute performance beasts, who still have the same passion and hunger even as a 10 year old group( literally pointed out by their choreographer), but that also doesn’t really change the fact that these boys have seen some of the toughest times together. I am so proud of them, they deserve everything good in this world. P.S- Hopefully you can watch their performance at Lolla Berlin, they were insane, 20 songs in 90 mins, slaying the choreographies and serving vocals till the end. P.P.S- I have always been a silent viewer but I love you guys, a notification from your channel about Seventeen always makes me super happy. Keep up the good work but don’t be too hard on yourself either, hopefully the pressure of reacting doesn’t get to you, and you keep having fun while you share this precious time with us, although if that does happen in future, please step back and take some time off, rest assured I will always be waiting and cheering for you guys.

I remember having the hardest time watching this the first time and it isn't any easier now. One of the biggest reasons I don't really mind rewatching it with you guys is of course because watching these shows with you is the best time and also it reminds you of how Seventeen got to where they are and how hard they work for everything they put out. The tears won't stop though😭😭 Thank you guys for this though🫶

Kena

i remember DK used to have really low self esteem that he would cry in their concerts apologizing cos he thought he didn't do well when in fact he did. glad he's grown to love himself as he grew older and become more confident. same goes with Jeonghan and Joshua. they were very timid here. very different from how they are now. so happy to see them flourished as Seventeen gained more experience. ah i am reminded how hard it was to watch this but still, happy to be rewatching with you guys! <3

jeonghan’s noona

This is me watching seventeen project with you guys😢

Alex

This show is great but hard to watch. The only thing that helped me get through it the first time (aside from knowing how successful Seventeen is today) was knowing that at least this wasn't an elimination-type of show and no one was getting kicked off. I don't know if I could have watched this when it aired, lol. As others have said, it's nice to see younger Hyelim and Bumzu. Hyelim was even with them in Berlin.

Yukime

Calling out hoshi, woozi and coups broke my heart bc they do take on so much responsibility for the whole team as the leaders. The pressure on them at such a young age was insane. This and hit the road are shows that took me forever to watch as a carat, bc it shatters my heart seeing them like this. It took me years to watch this show and now I'm here watching it again haha. You guys make it better tho so thank you for that! As a DK bias the next episode is hard for me to watch 😭 so I'm right there with you guys with tissue in hand lol. Thank you ladies, omg bri that pic of coups 😮‍💨😮‍💨 SVT @ LOLLA was incredible! They all looked and sounded amazing. Hope it's on your watchlist in the future 🙏🏽

irie

I completely understand where y'all are coming from for this. The first time I watched it I, too, thought the judges were far too harsh, especially when you think about how these are all kids in their learning era, you really gotta give them some silver lining. Luckily, I think the show improves on this from the next episode (only a little, the judges still suck about giving constructive criticism), but the boys begin to enjoy the challenges that come their way. And yes you definitely need tissues in the room before you reach the final ep! P.S. y'all are so real for that Coups photo, I have the exact same one saved on my phone ha

MS

I've watched bits of this show, it's the one I refuse to watch because my heart can't handle it. The next episode in particular is one I don't know much about and finally I'll be watching it with you. Thanks for the reaction <3

Everytime I rewatch this, I am reminded that they used to be shit scared of Hyelim sem(the performance director lady) because now they treat her like their own personal teddy bear/older sister that they love to bother 😂 A few months ago at their concert, mingyu dragged the poor woman from behind the control unit, and made her jump to Aju nice, and Wonu threatened her with, "if you don't jump we will make you sing" We almost lost her when seungkwan first got his driver's license and took her for a ride in his new car and had her stick her head out the wind9w to look at the sides while passing by a narrow alleyway and then suddenly noticed he had his windows down and immediately corrected that by pressing the button to roll the windows up. Only he forgot the poor woman still had her head sticking out the window so the window rolled up on her head almost beheading her😭

O.B

Glad you met THE Yoon Hyelim and Bumzu, Seventeen Core who kept them grounded and with them until to this date. Yes, it is harsh and yes it is heartbreaking to watch the boys getting sharp feedback. The thing is people romanticize self-produce term so much that they would only think it was only about making choreo and composing songs. comparing to other idols reality shows who would focus on self quality to debut, Seventeen on the other hand was handling their debut on their own hand. self producing pre-debut until now. Meaning not only they have to focus on self-quality, they also have to face the professional aspect of debuting themselves. They have to face the harsh reality of how their album and performance quality is it competitive enough for the market they are about to enter. Imagine the average of 17 years old boys to actually went into meeting and took part of what an agency should do cuz they are so desprate to debut. That is why 17 Project is important especially to baby carats to discover because the show itself is the foundation of what Seventeen are now and whats more amazing is they are maintaining it on their 10th year with more upgraded version of they are. That's what Carat take pride on Seventeen. Really enjoy watching the angst with you guys. Reminded me when I have the exact same reaction as you guys on the first watch ㅠㅠ

Normal SJA

baby deekay face is probably the purest thing to ever exist in the world. the amount of emotion i got watching him smile and cry is insane because of how innocent he is. the kind of face you'd fight a dragon for. he was and still so pure.

Aurora Mia

ah yes, THEE Yoon Hyelim and THEE Kye Bumzu. two of the rocks for SVT's success and really two of the people who have been there since the very beginning. personally, as much as i hate these criticisms, i think these were pretty much a base for what they were preparing for because the industry loved to tear them down back in the day so, i'm like half glad they went through this, half mad they went through it😅 finally, seeing Dambi after a long time feels nostalgic😔 look forward to see other sunbaes as well here♡

ema-simplywoozis

Them being on here really shows how hard they are on themselves. Also want to note that the production team sucks so bad with planning… posting about the show on the day itself when they have a small fanbase at that time, an even smaller number of people will show up…. And this is a constant thing they’ll do throughout the show btw… Also love hyelim ssaem she’s been with svt from the beginning till now. She was on NaNa tour at the first ep too! Telling the Na PD team that they doing a rap battle in the next room

Nezi K

I'm so glad you get to take a look on how they were during recording and rehearsals. Very hardworking, amazing people... Also glad that you're now introduced with the 2 of carats' favorite people - Hyelim-ssaem and Bumzu-nim (and 3 if we count Yeon Soo VP-nim). They were the mentors and partners the members are still with to this day... I know Hyelim-ssaem was pretty hard during the judging. I'm personally hurt by it everytime since I'm a Hoshi bias. But as the other judge, Rhymer-nim said, they know how well SVT performs (i did saw few of their predebut perfs and i agree) and so they were expecting so much. They got disappointed on the members who they trusted the most to do well. They pointed out the leaders - Cheol, Hoshi and Woozi... And honestly, I think they gave compliments too but was edited out. Like we saw how Hyelim-ssaem worked with them during the rehearsal, she was serious with helping them finalize the choreo then she cheered with them after. It's kinda weird that she only reprimanded Hoshi and that's it.

Oh, like you guys I really had mixed feelings when I watched this the first time before. I understand how they need to make us all feel the tension and the drama but I felt hurt for baby seventeen, even when I knew they would grow to how and who they are today. I wanted to bundle them up and keep them in my pocket. I especially cried (and got angry lol) when they pointed out Coups and Hoshi (I am a coups bias hehe and I felt for choreographer hoshi sooo bad) - but also I felt the grit and the "they're gonna prove you wrong next time" hahaha this series is a journey indeed. But a part of me still believes that carats must watch this, eventhough it's a really hard watch, because it makes one root for them even more, and makes carats understand their humble beginnings too. Seeing their struggles like this at the start made me even more proud of the men they are today and makes me want to celebrate their present victories even bigger because they definitely deserve all these. Again, I love rewatching this with you guys and I'm so excited for next week! I wanna see you see the competitiveness of baby seventeen with each other HAHAHAHA P.s. thanks for reminding me of Lolla Coups again - I'm still not over all THAT too HUHU HE'S A MANACE AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH

nica

good to know i wasn't the only one who didn't get over the lolla scoups yet 😂 okayyy, one more emotional roller-coaster in this ep! aaaa i missed seeing young bumzu and hyelim with the boys, it's so cute and lovely that they're still together to this day, i have a lot of special care for them, the real seventeen family! hyelim actually appeared in nana tour when they were kidnapped, i don't know if you guys remember! dk and bumzu love-hate is also incredibly funny, he mencioned at the dinner with na pd 😂 now, the thing that made me very emotional was the judges talking about hoshi again. we're just in episode two but he already was picked up twice, i imagine how hard it was for him. BUT!!!!!! it's just so incredible seeing this right after watching his amazing performance at lolla! he literally performed 18/20 songs (leaving out only for hhu and vcu) and still kept the public captivated!!!!! I'm really so proud of his dedication and development ♡♡♡♡♡ as always, thanks for the reaction and i see you next week too 🥰

lia.

I 100% know they have a "brief" that guests follow, and some go against it, but usually they are there to spark interest or controversy. This ways years ago, so I have to remember that the industry was different then as well......but yeah, its STRESSFUL. It helps me knowing that Hoshi and some others have stated that they enjoy the pressure and culturally ambition is a big driving factor along with not disappointing your peers or sunbaes. But IF YOU MAKE DK AND SEUNGKWAN CRY you are on my shiz list GUESTS (I'm looking at you Jessi). <3

Faery

I've watch this couple of times already and I didn't even tear up (except on the last ep lmao) but idk why watching it with you guys makes me so emotional, I'm tearing up every second! 😂 So excited for the ep. 3 tho~ Anywaay, are you guys going to react to their lollapalooza performance? I believe it's up on SEVENTEEN yt channel. Side note: Choi motherfreaking Seungcheol wrecked my entire being during their perf LMAOOO.

wonusom_

This whole episode is a perfect example of why I can't watch these survival reality shows alone. The range of emotions I felt while watching this had me stressed, I'm exhausted 😩

Nite Angel13

Yes plzzzz SVT LOLLA was insane 😭

irie

I’ve been waiting every tuesday for your svt reaction esp for this 17 project🩵 the boys suffer so much back then😭

M

WOOOOOOO

ela

Yoon HyeLim <3 <3 It's wild seeing her when just a couple months ago we saw her complaining to PD Na about needing to practice the choreo with them for God of Music MV before they started NaNa Tour =P FULL CIRCLE <3 Seeing all the staff/directors makes me realize even more how much of a family Pledis was from the start.

Faery

I'm sorry but your faces were sending me in this episode. I got teary with you then laughed through the blur. I get what you're saying. I screamed in anger at the screen so many times watching this series the first time. Again, thank you for reacting to this. I look forward to your videos every week.

13plus3plus1

Love how every criticism they received was used as stepping stones to become better and is who they are now. Watching this made me realize that.

Caratdeul🩵🩷

Hiii, hope you'll react to svt Lollapalooza too ♡
