I genuinely couldn't decide which bit of the books I should give out first since there's just SO MUCH happening, so I'm offering a bit of Rick and FJ, a bit of grief, a bit of sadness, a bit of everything haha
For the first time ever, this is a full excerpt, A LONG ONE, With CONTEXT gasps
Some background: this is somewhere at the beginning of Rick's and FJ's friendship, way back before they were partners, or rather the first year of them even knowing each other. Rick has already gone through his seventy wife-related traumas and FJ had already begun to adjust to his new life without the memories of his past, which isn't exactly going as well as he might have hoped because ma boy is fallin' in love and deep down doesn't want to leave Grimport anymore :,D They're both too awkward to realize it yet tho so don't tell 'em yet
DISCLAIMER : This is edit II of the first trilogy. It hasn't gone through professional editing yet and, as much as I think my English is okay, I'm still a tiny Balkan Slav, so I'm hoping this doesn't have any blatant grammar errors my non-native speaker brain didn't pick up by now haha. If there are any, they will definitely get weeded out through professional editing <3

I've just been writing since I was super suuper young, ever since I could write basically 🥹❤️ it's why I'm kinda self-conscious about my writing. I've studied visual arts for years and I've got several degrees in that so it's a bit easier to believe I'm kinda okay when it comes to that, but writing has always been purely a hobby that I also never really showed much around, so I keep feeling it's not good enough at all 😭❤️🩹 so thank you sm, this absolutely gave me so much courage to share more of these snippets before the books release ❤️

2024-11-28 09:38:23 +0000 UTCYOOOO we finally get to read a snippet of the story, and a generously sized chunk at that!! 💗🥹💗 To say I loved the way it read would be a huge understatement, gosh you truly are such an amazing, insanely talented writer!!! 😭💞 The dialogue feels like an actual conversation between two real individuals, and how you describe the scenes is soo clear!! I was able to create a full picture of their surroundings in my head with the details given, but at the same time the description wasn’t overkill. The whole excerpt feels very nicely balanced✨ I gotta know, have you ever taken any courses for writing or anything like that? Cause if you did, I need to know how I can learn to write with this amount of skill 😩 And if you did this all on your own and taught yourself to write, heck- I don’t think there’s anything you can’t conquer in life if you put your mind to it ❤️🔥

FJ was also just getting to know him properly, he truly didn't know 💔 OMG AND THANK YOU SMM AHH i'm so glad!! There are still some typos and stylistic choices I have to fix up, but I'm so glad the dialogue was left that impression! 🥰🥰🥰
