♦ Grimport Winter ♦

You can definitely tell who came to Grimport from a cold country and who came from fuckin' Sandcrest where the weather is always so nice and warm T.T <3 To be fair, it's not exactly FJ's fault since Grimport seriously isn't for the weak haha, the weather is absolutely disgusting up there

Grimport is a little New Rosea borough on the eastern seaborder of USA, up there near Canada, but it's located in such a poor spot and the cities are built so nonsensically that any and all minor weather changes hit these poor people like a ton of bricks. This goes especially for Grimport since it's essentially a rouge borough that was mainly constructed by random factory workers and just left like that with zero infrastructural sensibilities. Thus, every time there are winds, or snows, or rain, or hail (and those are pretty much the only 4 weather types they ever get, plus and minus a few degrees) they just immediately know they will be facing some kind of catastrophe for the next week or so, to the point where it's not even a shock to anyone. It's pretty normal for Grimporters to just travel through flooded streets, deal with daily fires because of horrific electricity issues and just shovel their way through snow by foot each morning T.T it's tough out there haha

Somehow, for Rick, all of that is actually an upgrade to how he was brought up. He was raised in Krasnogorod in USSR back in the late 1930s to mid 1950s and spent pretty much his entire childhood in the scraps left after World War II. His father was also a long tragic tale, so it wasn't a rarity that Rick would just sleep in abandoned buildings around Krasnogorod, even when he technically had a home to stay in. He was completely used to freezing to near death and defying hunger, so by the time he came to Grimport and secured a safe living situation for himself, it's safe to say he didn't exactly have a normal treshold for what's like a nice place to live lol, Grimport was super warm to him <3

It wasn't warm to FJ, though, and he was sadly the only person that wasn't born and raised in unholy freezing temperatures, so he never got used to it </3 boo was fully made to bask in Californian sun but nope, he fell in love and resorted to becoming a popsicle on a daily basis
