♦ We Were Born to Die - Full Linework Animation ♦

So last time I've shared a few prior steps, sketches, backgrounds, and the keyframes. This time I'm sharing the full linework animation!

You'll notice the backgrounds aren't perfectly aligned, and here we still don't have all the camera movements/focus pulls and random additional elements like that. Specifically for camera movements, I opted out of doing them in Tv Paint this time just because of how unfriendly their cameras can be haha, they aren't exactly made to move more than once per-shot, and I animated all of this within a single project file. Thus, I animated camera movements where they were needed in After Effects. The focus pulls I do after these guys are colorized/shaded/all the jam haha

As for the backgrounds, I wanted to make these animations friendly for both vertical and horizontal viewing. That's not something I've done before, but it is something we constantly use at work for commercial 3D projects I do for my day job, so I thought why not try it out. And it worked!

I basically animate on a square project file now and try to match up movements so they are flattering to both horizontal and vertical cropping. It's an extra step, but I think it's worth it for the sake of cinematic horizontal shots!

I have a trillion video ideas and I'm frankly so excited I cannot even tell ya hahha but the next one I do will be an original audio I commissioned from Doofguy!! It's a very short scene with Rick and FJ, right after they meet FJ's sister for the first time and FJ has a whole existential crisis about how slightly shitty of a person he was before his amnesia. I'll lore dump a bunch about that when I get to it, but it's Rick's lipsync and aaah, I can't wait for you all to hear it too <3

We recorded a few scenes, some longer, some shorter, that contain actual book lines, but I'm currently waiting for FJ's voice actor to get back to me, and I still need to find someone to voice Justus in order to finish up the rest of the audios!
