Yesterday I released AltStore 1.4 beta 8, which should be the last beta before the public release of AltStore 1.4. I originally planned for last week’s beta (1.4 beta 7) to be the last, but that shipped with a major bug that broke AltDaemon for all Odyssey jailbreakers which I needed to fix ASAP. Thankfully I’ve done just that, so there are finally no known major issues remaining 🙌
What can you expect in this (and last week’s) beta? By far the most exciting feature is a new iOS 14 home screen widget. You can now place AltStore widgets anywhere on the home screen to track when sideloaded apps expire, so you don’t forget to refresh you apps ever again. AltStore only supports the “small” widget size for now, but additional sizes that can display information about multiple apps at once are planned for future updates 👍
Additionally, beta 8 also includes initial support for customizing sideloaded app icons. From the My Apps tab, you can now long press an app to change its home screen icon to anything you want. This feature most likely won’t ship in the public 1.4 version due to minor bugs I still need to address, but I’m very excited for this feature given the hype over customizing home screens and I’d love to hear your feedback!
Thanks to your help beta testing, AltStore 1.4 is finally just about ready for public release! I can’t wait to share all these new features with everyone soon — and then go back to porting Delta to Mac and iPad 😄

The "Free Developer Account" type refers to your Apple ID not having a Developer account purchased from Apple ($100), which would allow you to activate more than 3 sideloaded apps at a time.

Actually running the games is fantastic though, which can't be said for other emulators. So I play on Delata mainly and do bonuses and stuff that requires features like this on MelonDS for Windows, moving my saves between them as necessary.

I had to change my appleid and now even though I log in successfully into altstore with my new I'd on the status page is shows my old I'd. Of course when it goes to do the background update I get the error about invalid info. Very annoying to say the least.
