They are followers after all, were foolish and naive enough to listen to him in Harry's time, stands to reason they would do the same again. That kind of attitude got them killed the last time though. The listening to the foolish old man when it came to showing your enemies restrain and forgiveness....

Harry lost everything and everyone in his time because you lacked the courage to do all that was necessary to stop Tom during his initial rise you old blind fool!! Any who wear the mask of the death eater should all burn, but not just them but their family and those who associate with them take out root and stem. Never leave behind any who could take up arms against you later down the road.
