The story has become so long its easy to forget somethings. Abraxas wasn't even named in that scene, so I can't believe it stood out to you! It just says his father, but nonetheless you are correct and adjustments have been made.

2024-05-14 05:10:52 +0000 UTCAbraxus Malfoy is supposed to be already dead though. I do really enjoy the story and your writing, but so far it has been the most common avoidable mistake. Not keeping track of things you mentioned or hinted at. Either things that you mentioned happened, or details/status about side characters. Things you probably made up on the fly probably just to add details, flesh up a character a bit or an interaction... and not part of any real long term plot. But then many chapters go by, and when the character shows up again, it doesn't match up. Like here, in the first Black family meeting, Arcturus gives condolences to a young Lucius for the death of his father and how he viewed Abraxus as a respectable political opponent worth paying his respects... I suspect this webnovel type of publishing "one chapter at a time" must make it really hard to keep track of all the little things like that around the main plot.

But I dunno perhaps is just me, but I still just find it odd how quickly she kinda latched onto Harry or zeroed in on him the moment they were introduced, especially learning of his skills how much interest she took in him. And then her not wanting any secrets between the two, even reminding him of such. Secrets are not necessarily a bad thing especially in the Wizarding World, for some things the less known the better such as horcruxes or even the Hallows to some because in the wrong hands they could cause great and terrible destruction. Again not saying Elaina is bad, but something just feels off is all. That and how there was no mention of Grindewald or anything either, he has been talked of and all, but no mention on whether he is alive. I’m curious if he is alive still or not and what his reaction to Elaina being family too. Grindewald is a favoritie character of mine honestly, and I would be curious who would come out on top between a fight between him and Tom. I know Gellert had more of a drive and a bit more concern for magical folk than Tom not to mention most important he never feared death and was always willing to die for his cause unlike Tom. He was not so arrogant to think he might not die or think he was invincible that I know of anyway.

That whole thing seems like a very useful tool to spread terror, but it's also very dangerous, pity the Order in canon never used it. You could just set up an ambush, call Voldemort's name and demolish everyone who comes to deal with the person who triggered it. It might only work for a short time before Voldemort stops sending people to investigate, but it's also a subtle way to spit in his eye and reduce some of the authority he holds in front of his followers. If your enemies continuously refuse to bow down and you just ignore it, you're not that strong now, are you? It seems like something Charlus would definitely take advantage of in this story, I think.
