You have to read everything and if you really want to be good, watch a few "getting the basics" videos. Matt likes to wing it! Hahaha

2025-01-30 17:54:56 +0000 UTCIn fact, the question is super-complicated and nobody seems to agree, with several opposing camps. There are those who don't like Planet Coaster and those who don't like Planet Crafter (and those who like neither). Generally speaking, I like it when Matt loves what he does and has fun (and/or discovers a game from scratch, which is always fun). The result is great series like the one with the auction currently on the main channel. I like both current games, but I find that watching a 25-minute video every week always leaves a bitter taste for 10€ a month. Bitter because it moves forward without moving forward. When the video lasts 40min (which happened recently, I feel I'm getting more for my money). In fact, I'd be willing to pay more to have longer videos every week (or two videos a week so that all the games advance more each week). But I also don't want to make things go faster by cutting more things with faster editing, we're also here for the gameplay. Maybe story-driven games give more of a sense of moving forward (I loved Infra). But at the current rate : - Planet Coaster: it's going to take several more years to have a complete theme park with coasters and scenery in Planet Coaster. So I have a feeling we'll never get to the end, even though the idea was great fun. - Planet Crafter: for us to watch, an episode means an exploration trip, a rocket and one or two things built. No wonder people tune out. In my opinion, it's not a game problem if people want change all the time, it's a rhythm problem. Either the videos aren't long enough to move forward, or there aren't enough of them, so in the end we'll never finish anything. (And of course I'm aware of the work involved, but... that's what we're paying for). I think the balance isn't right at the moment, everything takes too long so people want things and 3 months later they'll still want to change. In any case, thanks for the videos, they're still great to watch!

I do se there are many different views here tho so I am sure the comments are gonna be somewhat polarized either way :) Just make videos you enjoy making and we your fans will watch. I thoroughly enjoy your videos more when you are noticibly more into whatever game you are into also :)
