Chapter 0810: VS Blue Oak! Z-Move and Signature Move(Two-in-One)

Dragon Dance is an immensely powerful move, boosting both aggression and mobility at once.

If Dragon Dance is successfully set up, it can turn the tide and enable a sweeping strategy.

Rumble!!

The ceiling of Manalo Stadium shook with the force.

Mega Tyranitar stamped and spun with ferocious energy, the swirling sandstorm around it pulled ever tighter. The field of sand shrank, gathering closer to the Tyranitar as the center.

“Rhyperior, Brick Break!” Blue Oak barked.

Pushing through the receding sandstorm, Rhyperior barreled forward, only to halt mid-stride, startled.

With the spinning momentum of Dragon Dance, the sandstorm formed a vortex eye around Tyranitar, a whirling tornado of dust that carved across the battlefield!

In the stadium, Tyranitar’s form vanished, swallowed by a thick, swirling sand dragon. Tyranitar continued its Dragon Dance inside that swirl!

“The sand turned into a natural shield for Tyranitar!” Kiawe exclaimed, stunned.

“Even Blue Oak has to think twice about charging straight in,” Sophocles said.

“This…” Ash gaped, feeling a sense of déjà vu.

A whirling barrier of sand, turning defense to evasion.

Realization struck Ash:

“A Counter Shield!?”

Even Sandstorm and Dragon Dance can be combined for this technique!

On the group livestream, Steven praised,

“Natsume-sensei’s Tyranitar… his control over the Sandstorm is incredibly refined.”

“I get it now—‘win the weather, win the battle’.”

Wallace admitted, “Under other weather, Natsume-sensei’s Tyranitar would only be half as strong.”

“You can’t rush into that sandstorm, but you can’t let Dragon Dance keep stacking either,” said Lance. “Blue Oak has to find a way to stop that tornado.”

Rhyperior paused at the edge of the sandstorm, growing uncertain, the sharp white glow of Brick Break in its hand fading.

Blue Oak steeled himself, clenching his fist, and called:

“Use Rock Wrecker!”

Rhyperior’s palms had two steaming holes, each loaded with three rocks. By tensing its muscles, it could launch the stones—sometimes even launching Geodude or Roggenrola, a rather unique relationship in the Pokémon world.

Rock Wrecker’s power was extraordinary, and could even pierce through a sandstorm, though it left Rhyperior open afterward.

Unlike Earthquake’s wide chaos, Rock Wrecker was a rare controlled long-range attack for Rhyperior.

Now, Rhyperior’s rippling black and gold muscles tensed, channeling all its power to the palms. It locked onto the shadow within the sandstorm, a split second before a thunderous roar rocked the Arena.

BOOM!!

A huge rock—supercharged by muscle power— blasted through the tornado and hit Mega Tyranitar, splitting apart with a sharp, echoing crack!

“He landed a hit even inside the storm?!” Kiawe was speechless.

“And it looks like Tyranitar got hurt…” Mallow said, worried.

“It’s fine,” Ash’s eyes gleamed, “because it used Dragon Dance!”

“Tyra…nitar…”

Mega Tyranitar roared in pain, armor now marked with obvious wounds. The sandstorm briefly sputtered, settling as a thin coat across the field—yet with the boost from Dragon Dance, its presence and speed rose even higher!

“Tyranitar—”

Without hesitation, Natsume commanded: “Ice Punch!”

Now it was Dragon Dance Tyranitar’s turn to go on the offensive!

Mega Tyranitar lunged like a monster king, red patterns on its belly blazing with Intimidate. In a heartbeat, it closed the distance.

Rhyperior was still catching its breath when it felt the chill—looked up just as a fist appeared from nowhere!

“Tyranitar!!”

Mega Tyranitar roared, its fist sheathed in ice, smashing into Rhyperior’s jaw with a sharp, splintering crack.

BAM!!

The impact thundered through the Arena. Not a breath from the crowd.

Rhyperior staggered back several paces, its massive head reeling.

An ugly wound slashed its face, its eyes hard and cold.

“Whew… Lucky that’s not a same-type move,” Blue Oak kept his hands in his pockets, smiling, but his gaze was laser-sharp.

“I didn’t give it Earthquake. I chose a different signature Ground-type move,” Natsume remarked.

“I’m looking forward to that,”

Blue Oak replied, eyes fierce. “Go, Rhyperior. Use Brick Break!”

Tyranitar didn’t back off—couldn’t back off. Even with the sandstorm stopped, it was still a tyrant of the desert!

“Tyranitar—” Natsume called out, “Ice Punch!”

The two beastly Pokémon thundered toward each other, fists raised.

Partnered eyes—Blue Oak and Rhyperior, Natsume and Tyranitar—locked in a four-panel split, each one burning with intensity.

Brick Break blazed with white light; Ice Punch shimmered with blue; they collided with a boom, fracturing the earth and sending rocks flying!

Professor Kukui stared in shock.

Mega Tyranitar broke through first, roaring against the odds to smash Rhyperior back several meters!

BOOM!!

“Rhyperior…”

Rhyperior groaned in pain, leaving two deep furrows as it slid back.

The audience went wild, banners flying:

“Wow, Tyranitar!!”

“That’s what Tyranitar’s about!!”

Blue Oak’s gaze was icy calm.

Rhyperior’s repelled fist switched to a karate chop, slamming Tyranitar’s shoulder, though the crowd missed that detail.

Natsume’s eyes caught the spike-studded silhouette, noting the deep crack running from Tyranitar’s shoulder armor to its dorsal spikes.

“Tyranitar…” Natsume called softly.

Mega Tyranitar panted, face twisted with strain, looking over its shoulder with a “leave it to me” glance.

“I’m counting on you!” Natsume nodded.

“Tyranitar!!”

Mega Tyranitar, a tyrant king crowned with six jagged spikes, stirred up another sandstorm from the holes at its throat.

Sandstorm whirled, engulfing the entire Arena, swallowing up both Tyranitar and Rhyperior!

The audience buzzed in raucous discussion.

“The sandstorm’s up again!”

“You can’t see a thing! Commands are all by instinct now!”

Still not sure of Natsume’s strategy—if he lets this weather continue, it’s working against me, Blue Oak thought. He couldn’t stall any longer.

He drew his right hand from his pocket, flashing a Z-Bracelet with a Rock Z-Crystal that gleamed with solid power!

In the VIP box, Giovanni crossed his legs and tapped his temple, one brow raised.

Z Rock Wrecker—its power is outright terrifying.

But I remember, Giovanni thought, glancing at the far side, Natsume’s Tyranitar knows that move.

The stadium screens highlighted Blue Oak’s Z-Bracelet; the crowd was stunned.

“Blue Oak has a Z-Ring too!?”

“He’s about to use a Z-Move!!”

“It’s coming!” Gold shot upright, triple checked his screen recording was running.

“So Rhyperior’s item really was Rockium Z,” Lance frowned.

Leon said, “Looks like he wanted to save it for Arcanine, but Tyranitar forced his hand.”

“Huh? How do you know that?” Lance asked in surprise.

Leon smiled, “Because the sandstorm messes up Blue Oak’s view, and without clear strategy, that’s when even I’d pop the Z-Move.”

Gold cut in, “I figure Natsume-sensei’s strategy is, well, no strategy.”

Lance blinked, then thought about it. “Oddly, you might be right, Gold.”

Natsume really was out of options—barring illegal moves.

After all, Sylveon, Arcanine, and a sandstorm strategy were hardly a natural fit.

But Blue Oak didn’t know Natsume’s reserves. In this spot, taking out the weather controller was the best call.

The sandstorm darkened the sky; gold aura surged from its heart.

Natsume recalled: some of the coolest Z-dance moves were the Fighting and Electric ones.

But right now, Blue Oak’s Rockium Z was the same one Gladion used to make a crowd go wild.

“Z Rock Wrecker—”

Blue Oak closed his eyes, crossed his arms over his chest, and the Rockium Z in his bracelet dazzled. In a fluid motion, he opened his eyes, eyes like steel, clenched a fist to his heart, then thrust it skyward, cool and unwavering:

“Continental Crush!!!”

A raging golden aura erupted, scattering the sandstorm, revealing Rhyperior and Tyranitar.

Rhyperior looked up and roared, the ground around its feet fracturing and sinking, stone chunks shooting skyward. Boulders whooshed up in a torrent, shaking the entire stadium. At the same time, Rhyperior launched every last stone it had, fueling this final strike!

BOOM!!

The audience gazed upward.

A gigantic, spherical boulder, like a falling meteorite, hovered in the sky, radiating overwhelming visual power.

“No way…”

“That’s terrifying!”

“Battle Legends Z-Move, so much more epic than an Island Kahuna!”

The stadium shuddered with tremors, the sound of nervous gulps echoing everywhere.

“Way beyond what Olivia’s Rockium Z looked like,” Kiawe marveled.

The students were speechless. This wasn’t just “eye-opening”—this was so far above league level it was unreal.

Professor Kukui looked down—the field was caving in, almost destroyed.

“I was careless,” Kukui murmured.

Blue Oak, brown-haired and wild as ever, raised his right hand high, exuding self-confidence and pride.

Rhyperior matched him, palm skyward, raising a massive, spinning boulder overhead!

The next second, Blue Oak’s eyes flashed and he slashed his palm down.

BOOM!!

The massive meteorite crashed down into the Arena!

A crushing pressure enveloped Tyranitar, the ground beneath it fracturing and sinking further under gravity’s force.

Mega Tyranitar lifted its long horn, staring down the falling meteor, licking its lips.

“Tyranitar—”

As Blue Oak’s Z-Move launched, Tyranitar had already finished charging!

Natsume called out:

“Precipice Blades!!!”

Giovanni gave a satisfied grin.

Around the field, even Professor Kukui stared in amazement.

“Tyranitar!!”

Tyranitar stomped the ground, and a surge of explosive force rippled below.

Just as Continental Crush struck, a crimson blade of stone erupted from the earth!

Blue Oak’s face tightened.

Precipice Blades…

Groudon’s signature move—Natsume’s ultimate Ground-type secret attack!

BOOM!!

The fiery stone blade of Precipice Blades met the falling meteorite, shaking the whole field, the foundation itself sinking lower.

The stony blade, once dull, now glowed with blood-red, burning marks, like flame wrapped around a sword’s edge.

This is the true strength of Precipice Blades!

“Uh oh…”

Blue Oak’s eyes narrowed, staring at the huge meteorite. A bead of sweat trickled down Rhyperior’s brow.

The massive meteorite and burning stone peak locked in a dead struggle, perfectly motionless for a second.

Then—

The ball-shaped meteor started breaking apart, shattering into an avalanche. Across the heavens, a giant planetoid collapsed.

BOOM!!

Precipice Blades’ stone peak pulverized the meteorite.

The red, blood-like glow slowly faded, the summit standing defiant among falling rocks.

Tyranitar, now exhausted, gasped for breath, eyes still razor-sharp:

“Tyranitar!! (▼ヘ▼#) ”

I said it: for everyone’s victory, I’ll give it my all!

The audience sat, mouths agape, minds reeling.

Continental Crush vs Precipice Blades.

Precipice Blades comes out on top!!

The field was a wreck, stones still tumbling. The burning stone blade faded into sparkling shards.

The whole stadium froze, pupils wide with astonishment.

And then, the two Legendary Trainers resumed their clash.

‘Tyranitar, you did well.’

“Ice Punch!!” Natsume struck first.

Blue Oak’s face stayed cold. “Brick Break!!”

Dragging their battered forms, Rhyperior and Mega Tyranitar charged, roaring.

BANG!!

Ice Punch landed first, smashing into Rhyperior’s face, but just as the light faded from its eyes, Brick Break lit with fierce white light, crashing down on Tyranitar’s head!

THUD!!

With its four-times weakness, Tyranitar lost its mega form and crashed to the ground.

A hush fell over the field; the sandstorm faded, drifting over the smoky air.

Rhyperior’s glassy eyes turned to Blue Oak and it stumbled toward him, then collapsed with a heavy thud.

Beeep—

Natsume’s and Blue Oak’s icons, the twin Poké Balls, both went dark on the board.

“You did great, Tyranitar.”

Natsume recalled Tyranitar, smiling gratefully at the little one in the Dusk Ball.

Tyranitar had conquered a tough foe, and even used the sandstorm to confuse the opponent.

Like they say: claim the weather and you’ve already won!

“Tyranitar~( ̄~ ̄)” Tyranitar munched a Max Revive inside its ball, waving off the thanks.

On the group livestream, the members sat in awe.

“Blastoise, this is what a Legendary battle looks like,” Lt. Surge whispered, amazed.

Gold said, “Good thing I recorded this—missing that would have been a tragedy!”

Iris: “Send me a copy too~”

Gold: “Do you want the clip of Blue Oak’s Z-dance, or Natsume-sensei’s snarling?”

Crystal sighed, “He means the Precipice Blades vs Continental Crush clip!”

Cynthia smiled, “Send me a snarl clip too, please~”

After a brief intermission, the field changed to a new battle stage.

Since Tyranitar fell first, Natsume sent in Arcanine as an interim.

Blue Oak hesitated briefly, then threw his Poké Ball:

“Your turn, Arcanine!”

Blue Oak's Battle Legend-level Arcanine—one of his aces!

On the field, Blue Oak’s Arcanine paced like a calculating old lion, silently sizing up the Arcanine before it.

“Arcanine~?(´・_・`)”

Arcanine was burly and friendly, flashing a toothy smile.

Hey, senior, looks like we meet again!

Arcanine: “…”

Reluctant as it is to admit, that guy really has improved—Extreme Speed.

“Use Extreme Speed!” Blue Oak commanded.

Arcanine sprang forward, sonic booms echoing as it slammed into its counterpart, knocking the bigger dog back. Before it could recover, the “lion” was back at Blue Oak’s side, patiently awaiting the next opening.

With a focus on Attack, Blue Oak's Arcanine also had Intimidate. A Geomancy-charged Sylveon would have the speed advantage.

Natsume made his choice, recalling Arcanine to its Luxury Ball with a beam of red, and threw another ball:

“It’s your turn, Sylveon!”

A coordinator’s hallmark entrance—pink sparkles caught every eye as Sylveon graced the stage.

“Natsume-sensei’s Sylveon is just too cute…”

“It looks like it could scoop up the Master Class’s cuteness ribbon in a super Pokémon contest right now!”

Sylveon landed gracefully—slim, snow-white legs, bows and ribbons fluttering, eyes gently closed.

Then, Sylveon exhaled, opened fierce blue Baby-Doll Eyes, and braced herself.

“Sylveon! (▼ヘ▼#) ”

I have to get back at them for Tyranitar!
