Chapter 0726: Geomancy and Pixie Plate

Steven eventually received a thank-you gift of pink diamonds from Diancie.

Natsume glanced at Steven’s palm.

“No peeking,” Steven said with a smile, cupping his hand closed.

“Tch, your diamond isn’t as big as mine.” Natsume pouted.

The Diancite capable of enabling Diancie’s Mega Evolution was truly one of a kind—a perfect engagement ring.

Steven couldn’t help but laugh; just being able to collect a pink diamond made by Diancie made this entire trip worthwhile.

Sunlight quietly poured back into the forest, now alive again, streaming through dense leaves in patches of light and shadow.

King AZ stood tall, the eternal flower perched on his shoulder with its blue blossom and a gentle smile.

Princess Diancie led Natsume and the others, following Xerneas back to the heart of the altar.

“Thank you for your help, Xerneas~” Princess Diancie bowed gracefully.

“The one who truly helped was you yourself, Diancie,” Xerneas replied kindly.

Princess Diancie smiled and covered her mouth.

Xerneas’s gaze sparkled, glancing over at Natsume, silently marveling.

This Messenger of Arceus had truly kept his promise and helped to protect Allearth Forest.

Then, I really should give him his proper reward.

And, to return the Pixie Plate to Arceus...

“I still need to thank you, Messenger of Arceus,” Xerneas said.

“No need, I’ve gained plenty myself.” Natsume smiled.

First was testing out Mega Gengar’s Darkinium Z—even with Dark Aura and Diamond Storm’s boost, that illegal ‘Chibaku Tensei’ that walloped Yveltal was truly at Battle Legend level.

Natsume felt a wave of emotion, subconsciously resting his right hand on his left shoulder.

In a year and a half, Mega Gengar became a Battle Legend!

You’ve outdone yourself, Natsume-sensei!

If Gengar could hit Battle Legend even in normal form, maybe it wouldn’t be long before Red hunts him down...

Natsume pursed his lips.

With the current team’s level, wouldn’t he just get destroyed by the “Mt. Silver Champion”...

Better lay low after clearing Victory Road—no way he’s heading to Mt. Silver anytime soon!

Next up was the beautiful and flawless, one-of-a-kind Diancite—

Natsume was actually planning to borrow Professor Kukui’s romantic idea for a surprise proposal to Cynthia on a honeymoon trip to Alola.

In the Sun and Moon anime, Professor Kukui proposed to Burnet on the twilit beach, hiding the ring inside a Poké Ball.

Yet here he was, standing in Kalos.

Natsume’s mind was already wandering to the sunny, passionate lands of Alola, dreaming of peaceful days after retirement...

The final prize from this journey would be right now—Xerneas’s gratitude.

“Would you all please wait outside the altar for a moment?” Xerneas said calmly.

“Of course.” Steven nodded softly, leading Diancie, Ash, and the others away into the misty light.

AZ turned around, glancing back gratefully at Natsume, before strolling away.

A clearing in the woods, scattered with circles of sunlight.

Now, only the tall, stag-like Xerneas and Natsume stood, eyes meeting.

“Now, send out a Fairy-type Pokémon of yours,” Xerneas said. “I will grant it as much Fairy Aura as I can.”

Natsume nodded, not hesitating:

“Come out, Sylveon!”

In the Pokédex, Xerneas is a gentle god of life, willing to share its eternal essence.

The field of energy around it—Fairy Aura—amplifies the life force of Fairy-type Pokémon.

Diancie’s successful Mega Evolution owed much to Xerneas’s Fairy Aura.

Among Natsume-sensei’s team, both Sylveon and Togepi were Fairy types.

But Sylveon had the strongest affinity with Fairy Aura.

A beam of red light landed in the clearing.

Sylveon looked up with baby-blue eyes, her ribbons fluttering as she tilted her head at Xerneas: “Sylveon?”

Xerneas’s antlers glowed, scattering fine green sparks of light.

A curious Fairy Aura spread, enveloping them both.

“Sylveon, try to sense the Fairy Aura,” Xerneas said, warm as ever.

The little one was on guard at first, but gradually relaxed, shutting her eyes. “Sylveon…”

Natsume watched in amazement, marveling at how Kalos truly was the cradle of Fairy-types.

In other regions it would be rare to find a Fairy Pulse so pure.

That, too, explained why Sylveon’s growth had long been stagnant.

But under the blessing of the god of life, Xerneas, Sylveon’s fairy aura was steadily surging!

Natsume’s “Aura of Ripple” could sense the change precisely as he murmured:

“Is this… the transmission of a move!?”

At the same time—

Xerneas’s telepathy sounded gently.

“You humans have named this move… Geomancy.”

Natsume: ???

Xerneas’s signature move, Geomancy?

That really falls into the category of ‘teachable moves’?

Well, perhaps it does make sense. The Draconid people recorded Dragon Ascent onto scrolls for Rayquaza’s learning convenience;

The Crimson Orb and Azure Orb can awaken the powers of Precipice Blades and Dragon Ascent;

So for Xerneas to pass on its exclusive Fairy-type ultimate move, Geomancy, is actually kind of reasonable… or is it?

Natsume rubbed his cheek.

Does this seriously make sense?

First turn—absorb energy. Second turn—a massive boost to Special Attack, Speed, and Special Defense: Geomancy.

Combining this with Sylveon’s face-plant playstyle, she’s really going all-in as a close-range caster!

With Geomancy’s 100% boost, and the Pixilate ability converting Hyper Beam—

The attack power is even higher than Mega Blastoise’s Origin Pulse!

Incredibly tanky while also insanely strong—a nightmare to chase down.

Natsume and the Blastoise inside his Dive Ball simultaneously sweated a cold drop.

That’s illegal, Sylveon sister!

Bathed in the emerald Fairy Aura, Sylveon proudly flicked her ribbons.

“Sylveon!”

It’s time for a new little one ranking, everyone!

Natsume suddenly realized that Sylveon didn’t even have a Mega Stone, nor anything like a Fairium Z booster equipped.

But it didn’t matter.

Because Sylveon’s item slot could hold the Pixie Plate…

“Hiss… Am I the Legendary Trainer myself?!” Natsume gasped.

The Fairy Aura gradually faded, and tiredness showed in Xerneas’s eyes.

It had felt Sylveon’s longing to grow stronger… and that this desire was fueled by the wish to protect her Trainer.

“You will absolutely become even stronger, Sylveon.” Xerneas smiled.

Sylveon pondered deeply.

Suddenly, visions of the charmingly smiling Meloetta and the elegant, delightful Princess Diancie flashed through her mind…

“Sylveon!” Sylveon nodded sharply, her expression determined.

I have to keep getting stronger!

Sylveon learned Geomancy.

What had only been a Champion-level increase from Fairy Aura now solidified into something permanent.

Geomancy can draw on the life energy around it; though it sounds like a Ground-type ultimate move, it is in fact Fairy-type.

And now, for the main purpose of this journey—the Pixie Plate.

“As agreed, Messenger of Arceus, I return the Pixie Plate to you.”

Xerneas’s antlers surged with crystalline light, and rainbows danced through the forest clearing.

Natsume and Sylveon looked around in wonder.

A beam of light shot toward the altar behind Xerneas, and a pink, vibrant, fairy-like plate steadily floated up.

Natsume unconsciously held his breath.

This Plate was beautiful beyond compare… not resembling any known material—neither pink diamond, nor gemstone, nor amber… it was none of those.

Palm-sized, radiating multicolored brilliance… one of the rarest items in the Pokémon world: the Pixie Plate!

“The Pixie Plate can bestow infinite energy upon life, but it must be used with restraint,” Xerneas said gently. “If you wish to train with the Plate’s power, then the Geomancy I taught Sylveon will help.”

Natsume blinked.

Why did this suddenly feel like a cultivation novel—ancestral treasure, paired secret technique, bestowed together?

Oh well…

After all, Arceus did promise this.

Using the Pixie Plate for training was only natural.

Through Xerneas’s explanation, Natsume got the general idea.

The Pixie Plate wasn’t some auto-level-99 shortcut item—you’d still need to train diligently.

But compared to the other little ones, Sylveon would by far have the easiest route to becoming a Battle Legend.

Darkrai’s feelings were mixed.

Back in my day, I fought for hundreds of years just to challenge Palkia and Dialga…

Yet for you, in less than two years, you’re almost averaging “Battle Legend” status.

Darkrai looked deeply at the black-haired young man.

Images flashed through his mind—Arceus, the twin gods of Hoenn, the great cosmic war…

Darkrai: “……”

Alright, forget I asked!

“May I ask—when do you intend to return the Pixie Plate to Arceus?” Xerneas inquired.

“I have to wait for Arceus to awaken before I can return the Plate,” Natsume replied.

After all… if I wake the Arceus from its nap, Sinnoh’s time and space might just collapse again.

Xerneas nodded gently.

Only then did Natsume realize, his face changing with sudden realization.

Wait a second.

When is Arceus’s next appearance in the Kalos Region?

Natsume lifted his gaze to the sky, expression complicated.

He pictured the cross-sea bridge, the legendary Pokémon filling the skies—an epic sight.

That’s right, it’s the famous battle without flight!
