Chapter 0661: Defusion! A New Bonus(Two-in-One)
Added 2025-07-08 00:00:10 +0000 UTCYin and Yang oppose yet complement each other—an endless cycle.
The DNA Splicers, as a key item influencing the Tao Trio, weren’t just capable of fusion—they could also separate!
Black Kyurem’s ferocious face turned toward the black-haired young man standing in the snow, his coat fluttering. A flicker of hesitation crossed its eyes.
This human carried not just the pulse of the world’s beginning but also the power to transcend time and space.
A fusion of two Legendary Pokémon… was actually feeling fear toward a single human Trainer?!
"Kyurem!!"
Black Kyurem’s eyes flashed red as it reared back, a sphere of blue lightning gathering in its maw.
He’s panicking! This guy’s panicking!
Darkrai was about to leap in front of Natsume, ready for a repeat of "black hole shredding."
But then it noticed—everyone was staring at the black-haired young man stepping forward to face Black Kyurem head-on.
The hero where Ideals and Truth converged.
The teacher of Team Plasma’s King!
The Fusion Bolt blast surged forward.
The DNA Splicers levitated, erupting in radiant light. A spherical barrier expanded around Natsume, transparent and wrapped in glowing, DNA-like chains!
The chains absorbed the raging lightning, growing brighter and brighter.
Reshiram, sensing something, unleashed Fusion Flare, bathing the barrier in fire.
"Black Kyurem—"
Natsume stood inside the transparent barrier, lightning and fire raging around him. His black hair whipped in the wind as he lifted his gaze, eyes deep and unwavering.
"DEFUSION!!!"
In an instant, Cross Flame and Fusion Bolt intertwined into a spiraling beam of energy, crashing into Black Kyurem with a deafening BOOM!
Black Kyurem’s eyes widened as it crossed its arms in defense—only to be engulfed by the light!
"Kyurem’!!"
A pained howl tore through the air as, within the blinding radiance, two figures began to separate from its body.
Then—
KABOOM!!!
Dust billowed. The snow stopped. The clouds parted. The sky cleared.
Whoosh—
Reshiram’s white wings beat gently as it landed beside Natsume, momentarily stunned.
Then, its bright blue eyes—deep and serene—turned to the hero at its side.
「Why were you so certain… standing before that Fusion Bolt?」 Reshiram asked.
(Because Defusion is a Quick-Play Spell Card that negates battle damage—) Scratch that.
Natsume was about to explain that Darkrai could’ve just tossed the lightning into the Reverse World.
"Because a hero doesn’t back down."
N answered for him, turning to Natsume with a smile. "Right, Sensei?"
Natsume: "Huh?"
Reshiram’s gaze softened, warmth filling its voice.
「To witness such courage… a hero who embraces both Truth and Ideals… is my honor.」
Natsume: "Uh."
"Victini~!"
Victini suddenly popped out from behind Natsume’s head, clinging to him while flashing a V-sign with its tiny fanged grin.
At the same time, Colress stared blankly at the now-clear sky.
"My masterpiece… undone…"
High above—
Kyurem panted heavily, locking eyes with the freed Zekrom.
Zekrom met its gaze, calm rather than angry.
”Return, Kyurem. I will not clash with Reshiram again.“
Kyurem, much like Rayquaza was to Hoenn’s duo, existed to balance opposing forces.
Zekrom glanced at Natsume, then at N—exhausted but smiling—before speaking again.
”From this moment… my Ideals have a path to follow.“
Kyurem’s jagged maw clenched shut as it studied Zekrom deeply.
Fighting both Opelucid’s dragons was never Kyurem’s desire.
Besides… there were more pressing matters to settle.
Kyurem’s burning gaze shifted to the human holding the DNA Splicers—and the criminals behind him.
"Kyurem!!"
With a savage cry, Kyurem unleashed a blistering Frost Breath!
Colress wore an expression of serene acceptance, as if content to die having seen the truth.
Ghetsis, stripped of all pretenses, trembled.
"N… you wouldn’t abandon your father, would you?"
N didn’t even glance his way.
Natsume rubbed his temples.
Ghetsis’s ambition is nothing compared to Boss Giovanni’s…
While taking them back would likely mean a death sentence, due process wasn’t his to decide.
"These two need to face Unova’s justice."
Natsume met Kyurem’s gaze, frowning slightly.
"Kyurem… I’ll ensure you’re satisfied with the outcome."
Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s.
Kyurem’s eyes flickered with fury—it hadn’t forgotten how Colress and Ghetsis had enslaved it.
But it couldn’t deny this Trainer’s role in its freedom.
First, he’d broken its shackles.
Second… Kyurem’s gaze swept over Natsume’s surroundings.
Reshiram and Zekrom stood like twin sentinels at his sides. Victini perched cheerfully on his head. Darkrai lurked dramatically in the shadows, arms crossed.
And in front of him?
Gengar stuck out its tongue, tauntingly wagging it. "Gengar~!"
Kyurem: "……"
Fine.
Consider this a favor—to Arceus’s messenger, Unova’s Hero of Black and White…
To Natsume.
Sunlight streamed through the freshly cleared clouds, glinting off the snow.
N watched Natsume’s back, a tired but genuine smile forming.
Colress and Ghetsis exchanged a glance, an odd sense of respect for the hero before them surfacing despite everything.
We lost… utterly and completely.
With its cavern collapsed, Kyurem soared into the sky, seeking a new home among the icy peaks.
Zekrom and Reshiram looked down at N and Natsume, preparing for their farewell.
"Beep! Precious footage captured, Rotom!"
"Victini~!" Victini suddenly photobombed the shot, grinning with another V-sign.
"Beep! Blocking the lens, Rotom!"
At the same moment—
[Ding! Movie Mission: "Victini & the Heroes of Black and White" complete!]
[Special Rewards: Fusion Flare Gem×1, Fusion Bolt Gem×1, Ultimate Technical Machine×1, Random Legendary-Class Berry×1]
Natsume stared blankly for several seconds, his expression growing increasingly complicated.
Well damn, a home demolition starter kit!
If I'm not mistaken, that Ultimate Technical Machine must be for the starter trio's ultimate moves!?
As everyone knows, the starter trio actually has four types - Fire, Water, Grass, plus Electric.
Blast Burn, Hydro Cannon, Frenzy Plant, Volt Tackle.
Houses exploding, flooding, getting struck by lightning, overgrown with vines...
The mental images flashed through Natsume's mind, leaving him with a peculiar expression.
That damn scammer... I'll settle with you later.
[?]
"Natsume-sensei?" N called softly.
Snapping out of his thoughts, Natsume glanced at Ghetsis and the others behind him.
"Anyway, let's get these guys processed first... What are your plans now?"
N adjusted his cap, his long green hair swaying in the wind as he looked up at Zekrom.
"I'm... not entirely sure."
N smiled gently. "But by meeting more people and more Pokémon... perhaps I'll move closer to my Ideals."
"Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth," Natsume said.
N glanced at Natsume, his eyes flickering before nodding firmly.
"Then I shall continue traveling through Unova... until the day my Ideals become Truth."
Natsume rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
N's mastered sociology, physics and mathematics - his brain processes faster than a supercomputer.
For Unova's 'King' to champion both Ideals and Truth through praxis...
Damn, that's an unexpected path indeed!
About fifteen minutes later, the 'Handsome' Detective arrived promptly by helicopter after receiving orders.
The young Officer Jenny at the controls stole glances through the windshield at the legendary-surrounded Mr. Police Consultant.
Eventually she looked away, coughing lightly to hide her awestruck blush.
To have captured the fugitives Ghetsis and Colress in just one day...
'Handsome's' respect was beyond words as he rubbed his stubble thoughtfully before giving Natsume a silent salute.
Natsume trusted the detective's capabilities completely - after all, he'd cracked Team Galactic's case and had his trusty Croagunk's Poison Touch as backup.
"Croagunk!"
Croagunk's deep purple Poison Touch jabbed Ghetsis and Colress in their sides.
Both immediately collapsed, giggling deliriously from the toxins.
"Hahaha! ... they're MINE now!"
"What should I research next? Oh! Pokémon from outer space!"
After confirming their condition, 'Handsome' addressed Natsume:
"Will you be returning to Opelucid City with us?"
Natsume exchanged a glance with little V on his shoulder.
Need to swing by Eindoak Town first.
I came out in such a hurry that I left Ash behind in the castle...
"You go on ahead."
Natsume looked up at the clear, azure sky. "I can just take the Reshiram."
"Reshiram!!"
The dragon's ethereal cry pierced the heavens as powerful wingbeats stirred the air.
Detective Handsome spun around, his expression frozen in shock.
Reshiram gracefully folded its majestic wings, coming to rest beside Natsume. Its brilliant azure eyes peered down at the cramped helicopter.
Behind the windshield, Officer Jenny's face went blank with disbelief.
"That's... Unova's legendary Reshiram?" Handsome muttered in awe.
Natsume mounted the white dragon, then gave the trench-coated detective a casual two-fingered salute to his temple.
"See you around!"
The middle-aged man in the brown trench coat could only watch dumbfounded as Reshiram spread its wings and soared into the blue expanse.
"See... see you..."
……
Ghetsis and his accomplice were handed over to the International Police for processing.
It was safe to say another political Earthquake would soon shake the higher-ups.
Meanwhile, N bid farewell to Natsume, departing atop Zekrom.
Natsume had asked Zekrom and Reshiram how long it would take for them to return to their Imprisoned Stone forms.
Zekrom's answer? It intended to travel with N for a while before entering slumber at the right timing.
Though Natsume had also formed a bond with Reshiram, it wasn’t as deep as N’s connection with Zekrom.
Reshiram stated it would remain in Unova for some time, and if things grew dull, it would simply return to Eindoak Town to sleep.
Natsume gazed up at the sky.
Having Reshiram travel with him would only invite unnecessary trouble.
Still… it was always good to have another legendary backup for team fights!
Natsume muttered, "Sinnoh’s trio, Unova’s trio…"
Take notes, Lance the Birdbrain—this is what a real Dragon Master looks like. (leans back smugly)
Riding Reshiram, with Victini perched atop his head, Natsume returned to Eindoak Town.
Janta and the others—had been waiting anxiously.
Seeing Reshiram and Natsume return safely, they collectively sighed in relief.
The mayor spoke up, "The Earthquake has stopped, but… the barrier around Eindoak Town’s castle can no longer be fixed."
"That’s a good thing," Natsume said. "You don’t need to imprison Reshiram as a calamity anymore… and the same goes for Victini."
He glanced at the tiny Victory Pokémon on his shoulder, then at the fading barrier in the sky, his eyes glinting.
"Pokémon deserve freedom too. Just because they help humans doesn’t mean humans have the right to endlessly exploit their strength."
The mayor and the others exchanged uneasy looks, falling silent.
"Victini~!" Victini, blissfully unaware, happily nibbled on a macaron.
Ash and Pikachu shared a look before Ash grinned and scooped up his partner.
"I get it! Because Pikachu’s my best buddy!"
"Pikachu!!"
A jolt of electricity later, Ash collapsed, charred and coughing smoke.
"Y-You okay, kid?!" The mayor blinked. "Wait… he’s already fine?"
Natsume, utterly unfazed, turned to the silent Reshiram and raised an eyebrow.
"Why are you still here?"
Reshiram’s bright blue eyes gleamed with something almost human-like—amusement.
「When danger finds you… I will come for you, Natsume.」
It was Reshiram’s greatest promise—to the hero it had acknowledged!
Natsume’s expression immediately twisted into something complicated.
Whoosh—
With a powerful beat of its wings, Reshiram soared into the sky, its form gradually vanishing into the clouds.
Janta watched it go, murmuring,
"Maybe… this really is the best ending."
The mayor nodded. "As long as we hold truth and kindness in our hearts, Reshiram will aid Eindoak Town in times of crisis."
Then, quietly, he added, glancing at the black-haired young man with Victini on his shoulder,
"And I believe… the same goes for Victini."
……
The incident had finally come to a close.
As the sun set, its golden rays bathed the ancient castle.
Natsume decided to stay the night before heading to Opelucid City tomorrow to reunite with Moe-Moe!
His mind wandered back to Zekrom's Trial.
He lifted his gaze to the sky.
Though small, this was the truest Ideal in his heart—
Return to my hometown and marry Cynthia!
But before that, he needed to properly inspect his "House-Wrecking Care Package."
One Fusion Flare Gem, one Fusion Bolt Gem—both legendary-grade, infused with the power of Fusion Energy.
Absorbing their energy could greatly enhance Fire and Electric-type moves, making them perfect for Arcanine, who had mastered Wild Charge.
A bead of sweat rolled down Natsume's forehead.
Both of these types are basically invitations for the Renovation Crew to come knocking...
Natsume sighed. "Guess I'll just have to pick a lucky Gym Leader instead... Their training facilities are sturdier than a café's, at least."
Not that he wouldn't still be footing the bill for any damages...
Wiping away his sweat, he moved on to the next item:
[Ultimate Technical Machine]
Natsume recalled an old Granny on the Sevii Islands who specialized in teaching ultimate moves.
Even legends like Red, Blue Oak, and Green had struggled under her tutelage.
"Might as well ask around in the group chat later."
His expression turned complicated.
Most likely, this would teach his Starter Trio's Blastoise the ultimate move—Hydro Cannon.
His Blastoise was already terrifying enough with Hydro Pump, which packed enough force to rival a "Love Cannon."
With Hydro Cannon, it'd probably hit with the power of "One Kyogre."
Natsume: "...Another illegal move added to the arsenal!"
Finally, the last reward—
The moment Natsume-sensei had been waiting for: Berry Unboxing!
A Legendary-Quality Berry was perfect, whether for making Pokéblocks or gourmet Cooking.
But before opening the crate, he needed some superstitious buffs.
He washed his face in the bathroom, rubbed Togepi for luck, then declared with full confidence:
"Hearthstone—so damn fun!"
BANG!!
A brilliant orange light erupted forth!
