Chapter 292:Tinkatink vs. Corvisquire

"Everyone, head to the Battle Arena! Gym Leader Natsume is about to battle!"

As soon as Natsume walked toward Rotom in the arena with Tinkatink, tourists excitedly called out to those around them.

"Who is Gym Leader Natsume bringing to battle today?"

Someone noticed Celebi perched on Natsume's shoulder and, with wide eyes and a trembling voice, said, "Could it be... Celebi?!"

"Celebi? Are you kidding? Since when does the farm have a Celebi?"

A trainer wearing a cap and carrying a backpack pushed his way to the front.

As soon as he got there, his jaw dropped in disbelief. "Holy cow, it really is Celebi!"

"What's all the shouting about? Don't be so surprised."

A bespectacled tourist said calmly, "It's just Celebi, after all."

"Hey, you talk like you see mythical Pokémon like this all the time."

The bespectacled man adjusted his glasses. "Well, yeah. Look at the Meltan running around on the ground—aren't they mythical too?"

"Honestly, ever since I saw Yveltal rise above the farm, nothing here really shocks me anymore."

Since the farm had recently revealed the presence of Yveltal, the sudden appearance of a small Celebi didn't seem all that shocking.

There were many challengers today.

As soon as Natsume decided to battle with Tinkatink, Rotom quickly called for the next opponent.

Although it was just a City-level battle, the fact that Natsume was participating meant the arena was soon surrounded by spectators.

However, everyone's attention was now focused on Celebi, who was perched on Natsume's shoulder.

After all, this was a Pokémon capable of traveling through time.

Celebi, feeling a bit uncomfortable under all the stares, slipped into Natsume's collar.

Natsume could feel Celebi's body pressed tightly against his chest.

He patted the bulge in his chest and said, "Celebi, go play on the mountain for a bit."

"Everyone's probably just excited because it's their first time seeing you."

"Celebi~"

Celebi crawled out from under Natsume's clothes and flew toward the mountain.

"Gym Leader Natsume, did you catch that Celebi?"

Seeing Celebi fly away, someone couldn't help but ask.

Natsume smiled. "No, I didn't."

"Huh? Really?"

"This little one hatched on the farm."

"Celebi is a Pokémon of the farm."

As soon as Natsume finished speaking, cheers erupted from the crowd.

"So, Celebi is the farm's guardian deity?"

"More accurately, it's the guardian deity of this mountain forest!"

"If the farm can hatch a Celebi, I get it now. I'm going home to buy a farm!"

Rotom waved at the crowd, and the tourists gradually quieted down.

"Alright, the City-level gym battle is about to begin."

"Today's challenger is Shoma from Sakura City."

Shoma was a lean, energetic-looking boy with short, messy hair.

He said excitedly, "I can't believe I get to battle Gym Leader Natsume! Let's go, Corvisquire!"

"Corvisquire~"

Corvisquire, a Flying-type Pokémon and the evolved form of Rookidee, was level 24.

"Tinkatink~"

Tinkatink, seeing Corvisquire take the field, also ran onto the battlefield.

Rotom quickly announced, "The battle rules are 2v2, with only the challenger allowed to switch Pokémon mid-battle."

"The battle ends when all of one side's Pokémon are unable to battle."

"Now, the challenger will make the first move."

Shoma called out, "Corvisquire, use Hone Claws!"

"Corvisquire~"

In the sky, Corvisquire immediately used Hone Claws.

Its dark claws gleamed as they sharpened against each other.

"Tinkatink, Fairy Wind!"

"Tinkatink~"

Tinkatink swung its little hammer, and a gust of wind infused with fairy energy blew toward Corvisquire in the sky.

Shoma quickly shouted, "Corvisquire, fly higher and dodge it!"

Natsume watched as Corvisquire flapped its wings to create distance from Tinkatink and smiled slightly. "Tinkatink, it's time for your favorite activity."

"Tinkatink, Rock Smash."

Tinkatink picked up a small rock, tossed it into the air, and swung its hammer.

Thud~

The small rock shot toward Corvisquire at high speed.

Tinkatink loved using its hammer to hit things.

It was worth noting that Tinkatink's final evolution, Tinkaton, particularly enjoyed flinging rocks at Corvisquire's evolution, Corviknight.

Corvisquire reacted quickly, successfully dodging the rock Tinkatink had thrown.

Tinkatink wasn't in a hurry. Seeing the rock miss, it immediately picked up another one.

"We're not here to play around with you."

Challenger Shoma shouted, "Corvisquire, use Peck!"

"Corvisquire!"

Corvisquire folded its wings and aimed its sharp beak at Tinkatink.

This was how most rookie trainers battled.

After boosting their stats, they went straight for the attack.

Natsume watched as Corvisquire dove rapidly toward Tinkatink and smiled. "Tinkatink, get ready."

Shoma, seeing Corvisquire closing in on Tinkatink, yelled, "Show them our guts! Go!"

"Now, jump back and use Ice Hammer!"

"Tinkatink!"

Tinkatink quickly leaped backward, narrowly avoiding Corvisquire's dive. At the same time, Tinkatink raised its hammer as it jumped.

"Tinkatink!"

Tinkatink's face turned red as it swung down with all its might.

Bang!

Ice Hammer landed directly on Corvisquire's head.

A critical hit, combined with the type advantage and the move's high damage, sent Corvisquire crashing to the ground with a thud.

[Notification: Tinkatink has won the battle, gaining 3033 experience points. Tinkatink has leveled up to 24.]

[Notification: Tinkatink is beginning to evolve.]

On the battlefield, a light suddenly began to shine from Tinkatink.

"Look, everyone! That's the light of evolution!"

"Tinkatink is evolving!"

"Come to think of it, Pokémon on this farm evolve really quickly."

"Well, it's a place that even attracts legendary Pokémon. Of course, it's amazing."

Amid the gasps and exclamations from the crowd, the light around Tinkatink faded.

[Notification: Tinkatink has successfully evolved into Tinkatuff.]

[Tinkatuff has learned a new move: Brutal Swing.]
