Chapter 248:The Aftermath

"Last night, Great Britain experienced an astonishing energy surge."

"Multiple areas reported tremors. Let’s take a look at the situation from the locals."

On the morning news, the reporter was covering the aftermath of the battle between Natsume and Zacian.

The lighthouse keeper of the Lake Island spoke excitedly, "I swear, it was definitely the legendary Kyogre!"

"At that moment, the sea seemed to rise up like a tidal wave."

"I thought a tsunami was coming."

"Then, I really saw Kyogre leap out of the sea, followed by a sky full of bluish-white light."

"I swear, it was the most beautiful scene I’ve ever witnessed in my life."

The screen switched.

A passerby spoke into the camera, "I only heard a loud explosion last night, and then my house started shaking."

"You’re saying it was Kyogre? Oh my, that’s terrible."

"Sorry, I mean, I really don’t know what happened."

"I just heard the explosion, then it started pouring rain, and the thunder was so loud. I was scared, that’s all."

The old man who had once hosted Natsume, Old Man , also appeared on TV.

"It must have been Zacian."

The old man stood seriously beside his Wooloo and said, "I’m certain because I’ve seen it before."

"Baa~"

Wooloo chimed in.

The old man continued, "I don’t know why Kyogre would attack Zacian, but the only opponent I can think of that would make Kyogre come here is Zacian."

"Of course, if you think Groudon is sleeping in the Misty Forest, then forget what I said."

The camera shifted back to the news reporter: "Local authorities have launched an investigation."

"We believe the truth will soon come to light."

"Next up, as the national holiday comes to an end, heavy snowfall has returned to the northern part of Towada Lake, and many Ice-type Pokémon have become active."

Inside the farm cabin.

Kiko and Mikoharu watched the TV while frequently glancing at Zacian, who was lounging on the sofa, also watching the screen.

Natsume said calmly, "Of course, it’s fine."

"Zacian doesn’t belong to anyone, so there’s no need to worry too much."

Zacian lay lazily on the sofa.

It glanced back at Natsume, then turned its attention back to the TV.

"Lopunny~"

Lopunny walked over, took the remote, and started chatting with Zacian.

Lopunny wanted to switch to a more interesting program.

"Ugh~"

Mikoharu, looking at Zacian, blurted out, "It doesn’t look much different from a regular farm dog."

Zacian shot a glance at Mikoharu.

Mikoharu immediately tensed up. "No, I mean, uh—"

Gardevoir smiled at the nervous Mikoharu and quietly used Telepathy.

Mikoharu quickly corrected herself, "I mean, Zacian is very beautiful."

"Its fur is so smooth."

Zacian’s lips curled slightly, and it turned its attention back to the TV with Lopunny.

Mikoharu let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Gardevoir."

Gardevoir smiled softly.

After breakfast, Mikoharu and Kiko began packing their belongings.

The holiday was coming to an end, and both Kiko and Mikoharu were leaving today.

Zip~

The sound of a zipper closing marked the final packing of Mikoharu’s suitcase.

Once everything was ready, Mikoharu flopped onto the bed.

On sunny days, Indeedee would always help air out the bedding.

So the bed was always warm and carried a pleasant floral scent.

"It really feels like a dream."

Mikoharu rolled around on the bed, reluctant to leave. "I really don’t want to go."

"Torkoal~"

Beside the bed, her Torkoal puffed out white smoke and nodded in agreement.

Outside, Kiko was already pulling her suitcase.

"I’ll come back during the farm’s harvest season."

Natsume smiled at Kiko. "Sounds good."

"Jigglypuff~"

Jigglypuff hopped onto the suitcase.

Natsume pinched Jigglypuff’s round cheeks and chuckled, "Of course, I won’t forget you."

"By the way, have you thought about evolving Jigglypuff?"

Kiko looked at Jigglypuff. "Not really."

"Jigglypuff doesn’t seem particularly eager to evolve, so I think it’s fine as it is now."

Natsume nodded. "I see. That’s fine too."

As they chatted, Mikoharu came out with her suitcase.

"All set?"

"Yeah, everything’s packed."

Natsume snapped his fingers, and two Pidgeotto, each as large as a Pidgeot, descended from the sky.

"Pidgeot~"

Natsume patted their bodies.

Kiko and Mikoharu each climbed onto one.

Mikoharu, looking at Natsume standing between the two Pidgeotto, asked nervously, "Gym Leader Natsume, can I come back here again?"

Natsume waved with a smile. "Of course. Come back with Kiko during the harvest season."

"Yes~"

Kiko waved cheerfully. "We’re off, then."

"Alright, see you later."

"Pidgeot~"

The Pidgeotto responded, then flapped their wings.

A gust of wind blew past, and Kiko pressed down her flying hair.

Looking down, the farm’s flower fields swayed brilliantly.

Florges looked up at the sky, waving goodbye.

Teddiursa was still trying to get honey from Combee.

Heracross was struggling to pull Munchlax along.

If left unchecked, Munchlax would never stop eating.

The Heracross were very diligent about the orchard.

Infernape had already started training.

The Pidgeotto flew higher and higher, and the figures of the Pokémon gradually blurred.

Still, the bamboo grove remained lush and green, and Lapras swam leisurely in the river.

Kiko, looking at the scene below, thought to herself, By the time I come back, the farm will have even more changes.

Gardevoir, watching Kiko and Mikoharu leave, turned to Natsume.

Natsume stretched.

"For the next few days, there’s nothing major planned."

"Speaking of which, didn’t the news say Towada Lake is already buried in snow?"

Natsume smiled at Gardevoir. "Let’s go take a look."
