Chapter 239: Tinkatink's Hammer Crafting

Sakura shook her head. “I haven’t caught a Tinkatink. I’m just here today to accompany my friend.”
“I never expected to run into Gym Leader Natsume here.”
As Sakura spoke, her gaze kept drifting toward Diancie, who was standing beside Natsume.
Clearly, she was completely captivated by Diancie.
Seeing this, the girl next to Sakura introduced herself. “Hello, my name is Yuna.”
“My Tinkatuff’s hammer was eaten by an Aggron, so I brought it here to forge a new one.”
“Similar story.”
Natsume replied simply, “My Tinkatink’s hammer was eaten by a Orthworm~”
As he spoke, Natsume took out a Poké Ball. “Come on out, Tinkatink.”
Bang~
In a flash of red light, Tinkatink was released from the Poké Ball.
As soon as it emerged, Tinkatink looked around curiously.
“Tinkatink?”
Natsume nodded with a smile. “Yes, we’ve arrived.”
“Tinkatuff, you come out too.”
Tinkatuff was the evolved form of Tinkatink.
At level 31, it looked similar to Tinkatink, though it was slightly taller and had its hair tied up.
“Gym Leader Natsume, your Diancie looks so beautiful.”
Sakura couldn’t help but ask, “Can I take a photo with her?”
Diancie glanced at Sakura and nodded. “Of course, no problem.”
Diancie wasn’t new to taking photos; she had even learned how to pose for the camera.
“Tinkatuff.”
Meanwhile, Tinkatuff seemed impatient, tugging at Yuna’s sleeve.
“Let’s go, everyone.”
After taking a photo, Natsume and the group entered the Tinkatink factory.
Clang clang~
As soon as Natsume stepped inside, the sound of hammers clashing filled his ears.
In an open area, several Tinkatink were testing the durability of their hammers by striking them against each other.
In the center of the factory, there was a battle arena.
Two trainers were commanding their Tinkatuff in a battle.
On the audience stands, a Tinkaton was carefully polishing its massive hammer.
Tinkaton’s hammer was enormous.
The handle alone was longer than Tinkaton itself, and the hammerhead was equally impressive.
After polishing it, Tinkaton swung the giant hammer.
The sight of such a small Pokémon wielding a hammer far larger than itself was visually stunning.
“Gym Leader Natsume, welcome to our Tinkatink factory.”
Since Natsume had made a reservation in advance, someone immediately approached them as they entered.
“I’m the manager here. You can call me Ryosuke.”
Meanwhile, Yuna was attended to by a dedicated staff member.
“You go ahead to Tinkatuff’s workshop. I’ll accompany Gym Leader Natsume and the others for a tour.”
Sakura stood to the side, speaking to her friend.
Yuna rolled her eyes. “How rude.”
“Tinkatuff, let’s go.”
“Tinkatuff~”
Manager Ryosuke said, “Gym Leader Natsume, would you like to see our crafting process first?”
“Sure, thank you.”
Manager Ryosuke replied enthusiastically, “Not at all. Please follow me.”
“Aside from the leisure and battle areas, we have three workshop zones here.”
“The Tinkatink workshop, the Tinkatuff workshop, and the Tinkaton workshop.”
Manager Ryosuke led Natsume to the Tinkatink workshop.
As soon as they entered, they were hit by a wave of heat.
A group of Tinkatink, each holding a hammer, were clanging away at iron blocks fresh from the furnace.
Manager Ryosuke explained, “Our process here is semi-automated.”
“Gym Leader Natsume, you can place the required materials into the furnace.”
Natsume looked at the furnace in front of him.
Inside, Slugma and Magcargo were moving about.
Slugma was a Fire-type Pokémon, capable of living in magma, while its evolved form, Magcargo, could reach internal temperatures of up to 10,000 degrees.
“After high-temperature heating, the steel becomes malleable. At that point, Tinkatink can choose a mold it likes.”
Manager Ryosuke picked up a small hammer-shaped mold and smiled. “This shape is generally the most popular among Tinkatink.”
Tinkatink immediately nodded in agreement.
“Tinkatink~”
Natsume said, “Then let’s go with this one.”
“No problem.”
“After selecting the mold, we can place the heated steel into it for forging.”
“This step can be done by machine.”
Tinkatink quickly shook its head.
Diancie looked at Tinkatink and said, “Tinkatink wants to forge it itself.”
“Tinkatink~”
Manager Ryosuke chuckled. “That’s how most of them are.”
Manager Ryosuke gave Natsume and Tinkatink a detailed explanation of how to use the tools here.
From trimming, cooling, polishing, to tempering—every step of the process.
“Tinkatink, any questions?”
After getting a general understanding, Natsume looked at Tinkatink and asked.
“Tinkatink~”
Tinkatink shook its head.
“Then let’s begin.”
“Tinkatink~”
Tinkatink chose iron and Kommo-o scales as its materials.
Manager Ryosuke, watching Tinkatink start working, asked, “Gym Leader Natsume, would you like to wait in the lounge?”
“There are battles to watch outside.”
“Thank you.”
Natsume shook his head. “But I’ll stay here.”
Natsume thought watching a group of Tinkatink forging hammers was quite interesting.
He then turned to Sakura and Diancie. “Diancie, why don’t you and Sakura go explore outside?”
“Natsume, you don’t need me to stay?”
Natsume smiled and waved his hand. “It’s fine. Go have fun.”
“Yes, Natsume~”
After Diancie and the others left, Natsume leisurely explored the workshop.
Inside the workshop, about a dozen Tinkatink were busy forging hammers.
The constant clanging of hammers filled the air.
Natsume watched curiously as Slugma and Magcargo controlled the temperature, and as the Tinkatink diligently worked on their hammers.
Some Tinkatink successfully finished their hammers and happily ran outside.
New Tinkatink arrived, immediately immersing themselves in the forging process.
The afternoon passed slowly, marked by the sounds of flames and steel being hammered.
